Ok, looks like the incident is over....
SEOUL, June 4 (Yonhap) — A North Korean patrol boat intruded Thursday into the South Korean side of their western sea border and returned after nearly an hour, an official here said.
The intrusion took place at 2:47 p.m. high amid tension in the Yellow Sea after North Korea warned last week against the safety of South Korean vessels operating near the Northern Limit Line (NLL).
testing the waters.
Is it just me, or are others fed up with these petty tyrants? I’d support nuking NK and Iran.
Ping.
Also heard that almost all the remaining Chinese fishing boats in that area have pulled out suddenly overnight. This is something which happened before previously skirmishes in that area.
the test.
this won’t be pretty.

Seeing how far they can push before someone pushes back? A few days ago I thought all this Nork stuff was mostly bluster, but I’m actually getting a bit worried that they are serious about provoking some kind of confrontation. Dear Leader want to go out with a bang?
I thought it was Bush’s war mongering policies that made the world less safe. How could this report be so with wonder boy Ozone in office now? /s
Maybe Kim Jong Il is jealous the Messiah is more concerned with kow towing to the Jiihadists right now.
Meanwhile BO is off to Egypt and making appearances on the tonight show.
North Korea is itching for a fight, and it seems to want the South to make some mistake it can blame the hostilities on.
His vanity will be the death of us all.
SEOUL, June 4 (Xinhua) — The South Korean joint forces said Thursday a patrol boat of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) intruded the S. Korean side of the West Sea, and retreated after nearly an hour, following warning signals of a S. Korea’s high-speed vessel, South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency reported.
The boat, crossing the border at around local time 02:47 p.m. (1747 GMT Wednesday), headed back to its territory at 3:38 p.m. (18:38 GMT Wednesday) as a South Korean naval vessel sounded warning signals, a Joint Chief of Staff official was quoted as saying by Yonhap in Seoul.
The Korean Peninsula has been amid heightened tension as the DPRK warned last week against the safety of South Korean vessels operating near South Korea’s Northern Limit Line (NLL) located in the West Sea.
The DPRK has been claiming that the NLL, originally set by a U.S. commander at the end of the Korean War, should be drawn further south.

thanks for the heads up
looks like he is going to push the envelope until someone pushes back . . . let’s just hope what ever ends up going down is short lived and doesn’t end up with people dead
Obama will need to creat a government department to keep up with all this. The “Department of Strongly Worded Letters and Empty Warnings”. Complete with a Cabinet Secretary and a few thousand typists, unionized of course. Naturally it won’t work. The North Koreans will laugh at his Obamamness. So he’ll respond by creating a “Department of I’m Really Mad Now”.
They can share offices in the new building for the Department of Funny Walks and Curtsies.
