Republicans are already gearing up for the 2010 midterm elections and their prime target is House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D). The GOP is using the recent controversy surrounding Pelosi and the CIA in a series of attack ads.

Pelosi would want nothing more than to have this matter go away, but Republicans are trying to keep it going in an effort to gain some badly needed congressional seats.

It was two weeks ago when Pelosi defended herself saying that she was never briefed about waterboarding seven years ago, despite CIA memos that suggested otherwise. "So let me be clear, you're accusing the CIA of lying to you in September of 2002?" said a reporter. "Yes, misleading the Congress of the United States," said Pelosi.

Republicans are now trying to use Pelosi's own words against her. They're using rob calls and new ads aimed at discrediting the speaker in key congressional districts the GOP considers vulnerable. "She challenged the veracity of a bureaucracy that's trying to protect us from terrorist attacks," said Sean Walsh, a GOP strategist.

Walsh believes the ads will work and targeting Pelosi on the CIA issue is fair game. "And quite candidly she's gone after them on I think legitimate foreign policy and public policy grounds so she's put herself in the arena of fair game to either put up her facts or shut up," said Walsh.

The fact that Republicans are targeting Pelosi instead of the president makes perfect sense. Sixty-two percent of Americans approve of the job President Obama's doing, while only 39 percent approve of the speaker. ...... At this point, the ads won't be running in California. Most of them will be running in seemingly vulnerable Democratic

The Nancy Pelosi ping list

Quote: " Every month we dont have an economic recovery package 500 Million Americans will lose their jobs, I dont think we can go fast enough (on the package) to stop that"
Quote: "Yes, I am saying the CIA was misleading the congress and at the same time the Bush administration was misleading the congress (on Interrogation) ..."
Quote:"I would say that, as an ardent practicing Catholic, this is an issue that I have studied for a long time, and what I know is, over the centuries, the Doctors of the Church have not been able to make that definition.(where life begins)..The point is, that it shouldn't have an impact on the woman's right to choose,"
Question : "How is family Planning services economic stimulus?" Quote:" Family planning services reduce costs. The states are in terrible fiscal crisis now .. one of the initiatives you mentioned contraceptive services will reduce costs to the state, and to the federal government."

If you love listening to Speaker Nancy Pelosi explain things unscripted. If you wonder how the democrats (and the country) could pick such a clueless San Francisco liberal to run the house of representatives second in line to be president (that would be fun!) , If you wonder how Pelosi got to a position where she can hide in China from her CIA Interrogation quotes. Then this ping list is for you.

You want Congress back? How about a new contract with America. A balanced budget and term limits would be nice.

It’s not about Frisco. She is the Speaker of the House, putting her on a national level. Party linking to impact down ballot stuff works. I am certain some sheople voted D because of how GWB was characterized.

What we need are people who are willing to lose elections rather than comprimise their principles. The problem is, everyone in politics today has their personal re-election as Priority 1.

Term limits; repeal the 17th, returning Senate accountability to the state legislatures; and figure out bullet proof way to prohibit riders on bills.

RE :”This might be a waste of money. Shes from Frisco. Any other part of America it wd be a slam dunk. But Frisco?”

They are not trying to defeat her in conservative districts but using her like democrats (she as Speaker ) used Bush to win elections. Example, Maryland had a popular republican governor but Baltimore Mayor Omalley ran ads with GWB picture with the governor in 2006,’ Erlich and Bush’ and won and Baltimore was a KNOWN disaster that got worse under Dem OMalley but he used Bush to get elected.

You really think elections are won on direct issues?
