"I highly doubt broke and poor NK can even think of taking SK and they shouldn’t expect China to help them this time around."

And I thought Obama was ignorant of world affairs.

N Korea can wipe out Seoul (and half the population of S. korea) in a matter of minutes. We are there because we are obligated by treaty to be there, and because we are a huge deterrent. Otherwise N korea would be just Korea, and probably a huge influence on the entire pacific rim Asia and a large part of our economy wouldn't exist today.

It'd be great if China took military action, but they won't. They love this, they made this, this is their baby all the way. North Korea is going to ship nukes to Iran. They are threatening war precisely if we try to stop them from doing so. We probably won't. Iran is getting nukes already, but the North Koreans want money for accelerating the process.

No one is living up to the height of the times.

They don't need to, they are simply going to sell nukes to the highest bidder. Starting with Iran. That isn't a threat to South Korea. The terrorists the North Koreans are going to supply with nukes aren't aiming at Seoul. They are aiming at Israel and us, in that order.

They don't need a propaganda game, they can make up anything they like. They sell nukes to Iran, Iran gives them to terrorists, terrorists nuke us. Why wouldn't they? Nothing on earth stopping them. Not a thing.

Try to fix that by running away. Just delusional.

"George Washington would be rolling over in his grave if he knew US Troops were stationed in over 100 countries on earth.'

No he wouldn't. We are a trading nation, and have ALWAYS been a trading nation. That's how we became the most powefull nation on earth. We protect our interests, as we have always done, even in George Washington days.

We fought the Brits not only for independence but over trading routes. We fought the Barbary wars because they also impeded our trading, pirating our ships and demanding ransom for the crews, and forcing us to pay "Jizya tax" for safe passage.

Anyone who thinks we are or should be a self contained little sealed bordered country like N Korea of the former soviet union obviously doesn't understand our history and how this country makes and has always made it's wealth.

I remember Qadaffi (he was Khadaffi back then) being interviewed repeatedly in those days, talking about “the sick-eh-teh fleet”, because he couldn’t pronounce “sixth”, coming in his waters and what he was going to do to us. He was a funny little dictator.

It wouldn’t be great if China took care of this problem. The last thing we want is for China to expand it’s influence along the pacific rim and isolate Japan. There’s a long deep seated hatred in China against Japan stemming from the days of the Japanese imperial dynasty. They’ll either eventually swallow up Japan economically or start a war eventually, plus take over control of all the pacific rim countries we trade with and keep a military deterrent at.

You’re delusional. They can barely feed themselves. Their ability to wage war will be about 1 day.

Aparently you seem to believe NO ONE is capable of defending themselves without American support. Some of us are sick of paying to defend every nation of ingrates. South Korea needs to FORCED to accept the responsibility of cleaning up this mess. Withdrawl of all American troops will do exactly that.

I would like very much to see the PRC take out, er, restore order in North Korea.
Dealing with the basket case is North Korea would bankrupt the PRC for years to come...

I’m pretty sure the South Korean armed forces, barring some sort of political miscarriage, can mop the floor with North Korea. The North Koreans are short of food and fuel, and have skimped on training for years. The South Koreans, on the other hand, are well trained, well equipped, and are darn tough!

You didn't need to. I knew it, but I followed up with more of the same, although the teleprompter part is still true.
