“Music to the Deomocrats ears! They have succeeded in eliminating your vote!”

Right. Now there will be certain situations where supporting a third party candidate or independent candidate will make sense. The dims have employed that technique and certainly so should we, as far as techniques (strategies) go. The America’s Independent Party (AIP) http://www.selfgovernment.us/, the third largest national political party in the United States based on voter registration, to their credit, support conservative REPUBLICANS in select races, and also run their own candidates in other races. That is a good model!

"It's just the whole notion of a Republican vice president giving a speech after the incumbent Democratic president," Mr Ridge told CNN.

Does Ridge even realize that Cheney's speech was planned weeks in advance and Zero's speech was at the last minute in desperation? Why does Ridge want to be a tool?

...discordant voices emerged from the Right to challenge Mr Cheney's defence of the Bush-era legacy.

LMAO!!
This simple British scumbag Doyle writes about "voices from the Right" and then goes on to quote a liberal mouse like Tom Ridge. Maybe Doyle should worry about his own socialist mediocrity - - the nation he lives in.

As anyone who bothered to check knows, Cheney was scheduled to speak weeks before Mr. Out of Money.

Bingo!

These clowns can’t even defend someone they worked with in trying to protect this country. The Republicans have become the cowardice party. I hope they excuse me for no longer supporting them.

It makes you wonder just what the Pubs still in office under this administration are afraid of. I am beginning to believe that they have been threatened somehow if they choose to not go along with the 0's agenda.

Had Ridge bothered to do a little homework, he would have discovered that Cheney’s speech was scheduled weeks ago and Zero’s handlers only threw him out there to speak at the last minute in the ill-conceived hope that he could drown out Cheney.

Ridge is clearly incompetent and poorly prepared. He made the right decision not to run.
Now if only he would just go away.

"Mr Ridge spoke out after back-to-back "dueling" speeches on national security by Mr Obama and Mr Cheney on Thursday. He took issue with much of what Mr Obama had to say, but particularly disliked Mr Cheney's response.

"It's just the whole notion of a Republican vice president giving a speech after the incumbent Democratic president," Mr Ridge told CNN. "It's gotta go beyond the politics of either party."

So....when Obama makes a speech, Republicans are supposed to cancel their previously scheduled speech? Or change the topic?

This is why the DoorMat Wing of the party needs to be defeated. They believe their purpose in life is to lick the boots of the Democrats. We need fighters, not weenies who think a good philosophy is "Whatever the Democrats Think but Less So."

Why is VP Cheney responding now? Because he is no longer leashed and gagged by the People in the Bush Admin who were tasked with getting along with everyone no matter what.

Now, Cheney is free to answer the Leftists and react as comes naturally. And he is BY FAR more effective than any other Republican on the national stage right now.

Keep pushing, Mr. VP. You are not alone. Thank you.

See, this is where the rubber meets the road. Vice President Cheney is a Republican. Has he too betrayed us? No. Let’s rebuild the Conservative and Republican brands, outside and inside the R party. By doing so, we will force the R party toward us and we will win conservative electoral races. Wouldn’t it be great if the AIP got so influential, that the R party *had* to meet with them to construct platform, to strategize, etc., and to be able to win races? That would force the R party back into the Conservative camp.

Makes sense only for disenchanted Democrats who voted for Obama. Not for conservative Republicans!

Perhaps RINOS can find a home there too, but who are we kidding here. A true Conservative Republican, A Ronald Reagan Republican is not going to run off to a third party because a bunch of RINOS have infiltrated the party. If this is what you feel is best for you, go far it, but don't pretend to think that conservatives are shallow to the point of throwing their convictions by the wayside and joining a third party because someone on the site is recommending to do so. Not a chance and I'm sure there are a lot of other Freepers who will agree with me!

“We need to unite......Cheney is out there and willing to lead. I stand with him, I am waiting for sensible Republicans in Washington to be men and stand up to the democrats. Are there any? or do they lean so far left they cannot lead the opposition?”
+++++++++++++++

There are a few starting to step out. Sanford, even McConnell a little bit more recently. This is not easy for them - but that’s not the point. They MUST step out NOW. We must FORCE them to lead, or promote those who do through our wallets and votes and involvement.

“And BTW yes, I choked back my bile and voted for that pathetic piece of garbage McCain in the last election. I won’t do it again. So be my guest and orate on the subject all you want, it really doesn’t matter if all you’re saying is “Let’s do it again”.”
+++++++++++++

cripplecreek, that’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying we need a coherent strategy of the sort that AIP is a part of (see posts above.) It shouldn’t and mustn’t include shooting the R party (as a whole) through the head, as some people seem to emote here. Emoting is fine - but talk to me about a strategy that works - otherwise you’re just spitting into the wind - and that aint pretty either.
