Arrested Journalists Now Free But Still Face Charges (Bogus ATF Allegations)

Update: In a note to me, Pete Eyre clarifies that he faces no firearms charges, but was threatened with a federal charge and with federal intervention in the case by the ATF:

Firearm charge was never made. I was threatened with it at the scene of the stop and while at the jail but was never charged with that or any firearm charge. It was the stick they tried to use to get me to tell them more info. And it was the thing ("ATF hold") they claimed to deny us access to a phone for 7hrs.

And on a related note -- after searching our RV (both on the scene and at body shop in the early afternoon) my two firearms were left unlocked and accessible on the couch. This after making a big deal about having firearms. So the tow truck driver put them in his gun safe when he brought the RV to the impound lot.

Right to travel, right to be secure in your papers and possessions, right to just be left alone. But I guess I am too old fashioned for the 21st Century.

Best regards to all,

“Note to self. Stay out of Mississippi.”

Seems like the BATF is 50 states wide in its infection of the USA.

...possessing beer in a dry county...

Maybe it wasn't the "F" they were interested in. Sounds like there was some "A" involved. And if I had to guess, they may have been looking for smuggled tobacco.

They are a cancer on us. In this case, however, they threatened to bring in the ATF but did not. This was just a local county shakedown. They probably wanted the RV and were hoping there was some pot in it so they could seize it.

The War on Some Drugs as it has become. No drugs, no crime, but a jim dandy way to intimidate people.

As I wrote on another thread:

A lot of people on this forum complain about the Federal Government and want the States to reassert their rights.

I want the States to reassert their rights too but:

There are too many State and Local governments whose oppression would be just as bad or worse than the Federal Government’s if they weren’t reined in.

The Federal Government is not the only problem.

Reasserting State’s rights won’t cure that.

Secession won’t cure that.

But enough people moving (driven) out of the jurisdiction will starve the wankers out of having enough taxes to pay themselves.

“But enough people moving (driven) out of the jurisdiction...”

If there’s a place to run to.

If they’re not barred from wherever they try to run to because whoever is already there fears the newcomers will bring the problems with them.
