I'm boring."[1] Such down-home portrayals of homosexual couples are meant to provoke the question: Since gay couples really differ only in that both partners are of the same sex, what rational basis exists for denying them full marriage rights?
Are homosexual households, as the article suggests, simply another variant of human relationships that should be considered, along with marriage, as "part of mainstream American society"?

Lost a male cousin to HIV/AIDS-related death about 15 years ago. He died at age 45, though he looked 10 years older than his age. He had over 1000 partners, yet knew very few of those with whom he had sexual encounters. He was a heavy drinker, and also used recreational drugs. Such is the reality of this choice.

You raise interesting scenarios:
If a young boy catches mumps and becomes sterile thereby, when he is a straight adult can he still marry ? Or is he just out of luck?
Must a lady divorce once she enters menopause ?
Do a heterosexual couple using birth control pills commit tax fraud by filing a joint return as a married couple ?

Homosexuality, particularly male homosexuality is a mental disorder.. pure and simple, anyone that says otherwise is lying to you , or just flat out ignorant.
He was speaking in generality. The marriages of childless couples does not degrade the nuclear family. In my opinion, their commitment enhances it.

But what about 2 gay or lesbian people who want to marry - as a commitment to one another, and their family and friends - to stay together and remain monogamous? Is that commitment not enhancing the nuclear family? I’m just asking because of your post on heterosexuals/nuclear families.

Um, technically, sodomy is anal OR oral intercourse. So there are a LOT of heterosexual people out there who deserve the title “Sodomites”.
