Pope visits mosque in Muslim outreach: Calls for religious cooperation during Middle East tour

, Jordan | Pope Benedict XVI visited a mosque in the Jordanian capital Saturday, the second day of his Middle East visit, in an effort to mend fences with a Muslim world still smarting from his remarks three years ago linking the prophet Muhammad with violence.

Speaking at the new King Hussein bin Talal Mosque, the largest in Jordan, Benedict, 82, urged Christians and Muslims to work together for peace in the region.

"I firmly believe Christians and Muslims can embrace [the task of cooperation] particularly through our respective contributions to learning and scholarship, and public service," Reuters news agency quoted him as telling Islamic leaders and diplomats at the mosque.

ANY call for religious co-operation is the precursor to the One World Church and Antichrist.

I'm an independent Baptist and there are elements of the Southern Baptist (convention) I believe is opposed to Christian fundamentals (especially in separation) .. and I will not "co-operate with" a faction of my own denomination!

and the pope says you catholics should co-operate with an element of humanity that under the guise of a religion holds no sacred value for human life but a satanic set of mores that allow them to murder because some man allegedly wrote it was ok to do so?

What are you guys, NUTS ?!!

Pope Benidict has just given the enemies of all free Catholics the biggest smack in the face.

One of the reasons that I’m a non-denominational Christian is because of this recindence of fundamental Christian beliefs.

I cannot comprehend the Vaticans stragity when it comes to the Muslims, I just don’t know anymore.

Hey, I ain’t no Ozzy Ozborne, but methinks the Pope is a joke. And I will accept the flak.

I am totally confused why the Pope would do such a thing. I have NOTHING in common with Muzzies--NOTHING!!

Why would he play cozy with a group that wants to kill him? I don't see where he's trying to deliver a message of the saving grace of Jesus Christ, so why bother?

We are being silenced by fear. Everyone is becoming more afraid to speak their thoughts because of fear from reprisal of some sort.

Catholics MUST face the fact.

The Pope is a world, religious figure and what he does is noticed and digested.

The Book of Revelation of Jesus clearly states there will be a one world government and a one world church.

No global entity can consume individual borders unless the individuals WANT to be consumed .. political or religious.

World leaders will be/are being used to bring the masses into conformity ... the apologeticists will intellectuallize and help bring agreement to global conformity.

Don't believe it?

In the past 30 or 40 years we have been taken over by globalist thinking in ecology (primarily) and it has blossomed into climate __________ (fill in the blank)

Global leaders have legislated, legislators have enacted, apologeticists have written and written and written ... talkers have talked ... and we have one gallon flush toilets etc.

The Pope is complicit in ushering in the one world religion by appearing to be good in an evil environment.

The apologeticist will legitimatize it ... and catholics will ultimately go along because ... well .... he's the Pope.

Yeshua entered the common enviornment and ate with sinners to make the point they needed to stop being sinners .... Yeshua never sided with the sinner, to unite HIM with the sinner.

I guess it just depends upon what you want to believe. Those who see the Pontiff as ushering in the antichrist can just skip reading this:

“Pope address disappoints Muslim leaders
BREITBART ^ | May 9, 2009

Posted on Saturday, May 09, 2009 11:58:49 PM by Alex Murphy

Jordanian clerics expressed disappointment that Pope Benedict XVI in an address to Muslim leaders on Saturday failed to offer a new apology for remarks seen as targeting Islam.

“We wanted him to clearly apologise,” Sheikh Yusef Abu Hussein, mufti of the southern city of Karak, told AFP after the pope’s address in Amman’s huge Al-Hussein Mosque.”

He has a billion Catholics to watch over. Deliberately provoking the Muslims who have no problem right now killing them and denying them the right to life, liberty and property in the Islamic world is not the way to go about it.

Provoking is one thing. Kissing their butts is something else again. I have long wondered how, in any sane world, the “leaders” of the world, both religious and secular, could rally to murdering, thieving, lying barbarians who kill for sport and bloodlust.
Woe unto the leaders who cry “peace, peace,” when there is no peace.
I have decided that the world cannot possibly be sane.

This is kissing their butts? The man is not only a Christian but a world leader. What is he suppose to do, spit in the guy’s face? Maybe he spent too much time reading that “love one another” stuff some Jewish guy said years ago.

How about inviting the Pope to pray for peace in Mecca? or allowing Christian churches in Saudi Arabia?

>”This is kissing their butts?”

Yes, in my opinion, it is. Please inform me what task of cooperation Islam brings to any place it goes. Where they step their feet, they take over. Convert or die. They rape western women because they can...and get away with it. What is Darfur? Who began, and still practices, slavery? How many Christians have been slaughtered in the name of a false god?
Have you ever seen or read what their great scholars teach? I mean you want to be able to lawfully beat your wife, murder your daughter? Brush your teeth with sticks and twigs? etc. It is customary to rape young boys to establish domination so there is no word in Islam for homosexual. Homodinejad cited that at Columbia. There is no homosexual problem in Iran, is there?

>”The man is not only a Christian but a world leader. What is he suppose to do, spit in the guy’s face?”

As far as I am concerned he shouldn’t BE face to face with murderers. Islam will use anything he says or does to legitimize themselves, and further propagandize their claims that their “religion” is peaceful. It isn’t and you know it isn’t, and so does the pope.

>”Maybe he spent too much time reading that “love one another” stuff some Jewish guy said years ago.”

Funny you should say that. Islam says that “Jewish guy” was Islamic. Who knew?
And that “Jewish guy” forgave thieves, NOT murderers. You do not forgive murder, and THAT is what Islam is. Period.

“A new fatwa published in Egypt determines that the source of all the existing pigs in the world is Jews, who were cursed by Allah. The new edict was issued by Sheikh Ali Osman from the Egyptian Waqf ministry. Due to their Jewish roots, Sheikh Osman says, it is permissible to slaughter all the pigs. The religious scholar was quoted as saying by a Jordanian newspaper that he personally believes the source of the pigs is Jews and thus the consumption of pork meat is banned in Islam.”

I think the “Jewish guy” you spoke of wasn’t supposed to eat pork either. So much for Islamic scholarship and scientific achievement.
THIS is who the Pope is trying to have dialogue with. Again, I ask. WHY?

Then why go at all. He looks weak and Muzzies don’t respect weakness. Maybe there’s something about this I don’t know or don’t get but I’m not happy about him doing this. I’m not Catholic but I am Christian and I know these savages either want to convert me or kill me and that goes for all Catholics, too.

What the Pope told those Muzzies is BS—pure BS. He should have stayed home or gone somewhere else.
