Texas has a corporate franchise tax. See http://www.sos.state.tx.us/corp/tax.shtml for more information.

they will just reorganize and instead of being US Multinationals, will become Multinationals based someplace else. (bringing back the Monty Python idea to tax all foreigners living abroad...)

Buffett said he didn’t pay enough taxes...I guess he’ll get his chance both individually and corporately

now perhaps truly rests on and with The American People.

Yes, whatever the outcome, we're seeing a huge change in the electorate. This is going to be a test of those who still know the traditional America and are willing to fight for it. How many are there? That question is giving me nightmares!

I never in my life thought I would see the events in Europe be repeated in the U.S. I am beginning to think we need some sort of divine intervention, like the election of John Paul II to the papacy during the Cold War. I don't know what form that intervention would take in this country.

They say that the seers of Garabandal foretold a sort of "Warning." It consists of a world-wide intervention of God in each individual's conscience. No one would be exempt. You would see all the evil that you do and good that you're not doing. Then you would be called to reform your life according to your conscience. Don't laugh! Whatever the status of these visions (and you can take them or leave them), I'm beginning to think the way out of this is a profound spiritual renewal. Our travails are way beyond the power of politics to fix.

These opinions may get me written off as some "Art Bell/Coast to Coast" kook, but I do think we need more than politics now to save our country.

Obama truly, truly hates the United States.

Apparently Obama actually WAS listening to the endless hate preached by “Reverend” Wright, Mad Bomber Bill Ayers, and the rest of his vermin for all those years.

Everything he does is to destroy this nation.

If Governor Doyle here in WI is re-elected, I’m already packing my bags for Austin, TX.

Obama claims his tax hikes will “level the playing field.”

He's forcing them into Sharia Law.

It's like the Bible prophesies - "Those who have will have not, and those who have not will have."

Oboma will use the productive as slaves for the unproductive - by law.

Americans should avoid - like a liberal plague - anything with an attached tax. We can live without the governments money, but they can't live without ours.

The Tax payers are now trillions of dollars in debt, and received nothing for their labors in return. Some one has to pay for it all, but what if the slaves decided to slow down, be less productive, and stop spending? Who will feed the democrats? Who will feed the beast? How will the politicians buy their votes?

It's not illegal to avoid any and all voluntary taxes. It's a "lifestyle choice."

Our last hope to educate the people who have been brainwashed is for the business owners and managers to teach this stuff to their employees. Many (most) Americans DON”T understand basic business and economic principles any more, and are being taught that “Capitalism just rewards selfishness” and other such nonsense. If business owners could teach their employees that these kinds of policies are ultimately going to cost their own company to the point that they may end up losing their jobs, maybe they will finally get it!!! Business owners are going to have to take up the slack that pastors and schools used to fulfill in teaching citizens the links between responsibility and freedom.

this is right out of “Altas Shrugged”

for anyone who has travelled the earth, the United States is head and sholders ahead of the rest of the world in quality of life and tech.

This is to hold back the united states plain and simple.

Obama is the swarthy professor trying to hold back inovation in order to protect the non producers. In the book a new metal was a threat to the government sponsored science research because the government never created any inovation. So they sought to stifle innovation to protect the validity of the government lab. IN addition the established OLD TECH companies were affraid of the inovation which they could not produce so they fought to force innovation off the market.

Obama is forcing companies to NOT INVEST in the USA in order to prop up the dirt ecconomies of the rest of the world.

Remember FRANCE is only in the bottom 5th states of the USA! And that is the best of the EU!

This is to stiffle productivity in the USA to prevent the USA from getting ahead of the world. (see also keyoto, see also cap and trade, see also smart grid, see also algore)

Absolutely EXCELLENT, subversive idea you have there. Brilliant, in fact.

It could be a real grassroots pain in the ass for the Obama Administration for business people, who employ millions of Americans (and voters) to have company education programs making it very clear how Obama type programs will cause the company to have to lay them off. This will really piss off the whole of the American people against socialism.

At the very least it has to be an educative campaign, and I mean QUICK, over the next 6-9 months. Certainly the MSM and the White House will not educate the American people to these basic economic facts nor will our high schools nor colleges. It is up to the Presidents and Boards of companies to start these education campaigns within companies.

Thanks for the kind words!

I don’t know how to get the idea out there. Something like this may be one of the last avenues available to get some of these fundamental truths out to people who are more tuned in to American Idol, etc. and will probably never watch Fox, listen to Mark Levin, etc.

What would be nice is if some independent educational company could make a short video course explaining free market economics, how capital works, how economics policies really effect the economic environment, productivity, jobs, etc.

Frame the whole debate as “Freedom” vs. “Control” (free markets promote freedom & prosperity vs. bureauracies stifle freedom and just want to control people, creativity, etc., and bring everyone down to a lower economic level) Nothing too technical, just basic truthful principles in an entertaining format. Maybe start out with the idea mentioned on another thread of the college students proposing the grade sharing scheme. Make the initial point with that and then get into some of the basic theory.

Then maybe business managers could offer it as an after work class with some type of incentive for employees. This would need to be seen by everyone down to the secretaries & janitors!

Just some random thoughts. Maybe some other Freepers might have an idea on how to get this going.
