WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama is likely to seek a nominee for the Supreme Court who will not only defend the liberal jurisprudence that reshaped American society in the mid-20th century, but who may also aim to build a progressive legal vision for the century ahead.

Mr. Obama's ideal candidate, speculates Harvard University professor Laurence Tribe, would "bring majorities together [on the court] around a compelling vision of the law with the elfin touch of someone like [William] Brennan, someone who can move the ocean liner without making terrible waves." Mr. Tribe taught constitutional law to Mr. Obama and today is among the president's legal confidants.

GOP and the rest of America better find their spine and guts and repudiate this BS before the Gestapo knocks on their door and hauls them off.

When the word progressive is used in association with government, definition 4a at http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/progressive is the best.

4 a: increasing in extent or severity < a progressive disease >

So progressive = cancer.

Similarly, service in Internal Revenue Service is definition 10 at http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/service

A dictionary definition of “progressive” is “doing something to achieve progress.” Progress is determined by each person’s opinions. Obama’s nominee won’t cause progress. He or she will damage the country.

Tribe is a white guy. A black or Hispanic woman would be a “two-fer” for Obama.

Tribe sounds like the kind of Marxist who gave “Barry” his legal direction.

When are they going to get the goods on this fraudulent President and his questionable birth backround???

From Wiki, regarding Laurence Tribe:

Tribe continues to strongly support liberal political causes. He is one of the co-founders of the liberal American Constitution Society, the law and policy organization formed to counter the conservative and libertarian Federalist Society.

He actively supported the candidacy of President Barack Obama, and describes Obama as "the best student I ever had."[1] Alongside Harvard's Cass Sunstein, Tribe served as judicial adviser to Obama's campaign.[2]

Oh ya...Bammy’s vision was ‘molded’ straight from this guy’s lectures.

In 2005, Tribe told of a ‘change’ in constitutional law in this county, and in the near future!

Here it is folks!

It is not progressive to punish the successful and subsidize the unsuccessful. It is not progressive to take away incentive. It is not progressive to centralize economies and erode personal freedoms and the rights of individuals to be individuals. All of this has been tried before, and has failed miserably. It is reactionary (in the sense that it is a ‘return to the past’), not progressive.

Progressive would be a society in which our economy is rooted in innovation and self-initiative, and we reward those who are successful. Progressive is building on a medical/biomedical system that has led to incredible advances in human health, rather than rationing care and taking away incentive from the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. Progressive is supporting a real back and forth dialogue on all issues, not suppressing opinions and facts on the grounds of ‘political correctness’. Progressive is moving forward toward a colorblind society, not using separate sets of standards for different people, and not ‘blaming’ all the misfortunes of one group on another group. Progressive is encouraging the growth of a society in which people transcend their own human weaknesses and vices and become better over time, not moral equivalency in which there is no right or wrong and no ideals of morality and integrity to aspire to.

In this topsy-turvy world people like Castro who pushed his people into poverty and created a society people risk their lives to flee from is progressive, but a person who elects to live by their own principles and have and love a Down’s Syndrome child is a an ‘idiot’ and a ‘right-wing neanderthal’.
