A student group that bills itself as "America's right wing youth movement" focused on countering radical multiculturism, socialism and mass immigration is causing a stir on a growing number of college campuses across the country.
The ultra-conservative political group Youth for Western Civilization is currently organized on at least seven university campuses. According to its Web site, the group hopes to inspire Western youth on the "basis of pride in their American and Western heritage," counter and ultimately defeat "leftism on campus" and create a social movement in which a right-wing subculture is an alternative to what it calls a "poisonous and bigoted" campus climate.
"A great part of college is definitely meeting people of different backgrounds, but a multicultural ideology teaches that we should appreciate things just because they're different from our culture with no regards to the quality of the culture and that all cultures are inherently equal," said Trevor Williams, president of YWC's Vanderbilt chapter. "I absolutely disagree."
But students who lean left are not welcoming their new neighbor. Those opposed to YWC say its message teeters on hate speech and has no place at institutions of higher learning.

Conservative speech = hate speech. You just knew it was coming.
brave souls
God bless these wonderful young people. They’re carrying the torch of freedom and liberty forward into my children’s future.
This is the organization that invited Tom Tancredo and Virgil Goode to speak on immigration topics at the University of North Carolina this past month. The Tancredo speech was shut down by protestors who shouted obscenities, continually disrupted the venue, shattered a window, and finally pulled fire alarms forcing the evacuation of the building. Virgil Goode’s speech, under heavy security, went ahead as planned.
These are some brave people, standing up for what they believe in a liberal and intolerant viper’s den like UNC.

Look for leftists carrying nazi flags to stand behind them in the news coverage.
Defined as ultra-conservative in the lib lexicon.
Kind of like what the hippies did in the 60's, and were called radicals. I guess being a "radical" today is not "good". It was OK then, why not now?
I'm a wee bit proud of my heritage.
Conservative speech = hate speech. You just knew it was coming.
The whack radical left always trots out the labels: hate speech, bigot, racist. Problem is any thinking person knows its about the trashing of this countries founding principles, values and documents! You may not believe in any of them but they serve as structure to allow all of us to live a free life.
In fact, it’s described as hate speech by some of the usual suspects quoted in the article.
...and that's all you need to know about whether the SPLC hates America or not.
Countering LARAZA - I wonder if they will get fed funding as well.
The left is a genocidal conspiracy. Any other group could march thru campus with a torchlight parade, but any hint that they are white and the haters come out the woodwork.
Hear that, Whitey? Any mention of your existence is an affront to the peaceful people of color who are now your superiors. Any discussion of your history or culture, except in terms of self-criticism and denunciation, is an "assault," a crime.
Ah, graduate students, is there anything they DON'T know?
The tolerant and compassionate left. They make me physically ill.
Wasn’t there a guy who did something similar (carrying bizzare signs) at anti-war rallies? He was interviewed by Rush was he not? Everyone howled, right?
My only point is that they can do what we do and we can do what they do.
Actually, we SHOULD do what they do—
Rule #6: A good tactic is one people enjoy
Another thread about colleges.
You know that the MSM has ignored all the left wing college groups, but watch them portray this one as a bunch of Nazi skin heads.
Of course, by the DHS’s new standards, they are all going to be labeled a s a bunch of domestic terrorist types, right along with pro-lifers, pro-gun advocates, and veterans.
The hippie movement was mostly about being lazy and unproductive. This is quite different. Oh, and I'm pretty sure these kids bathe.
