US swine flu cases are considered "mild"......only b/c US citizens are immunized against disease. Plus US sanitation practices are much more regulated.

Mexico's sanitary practices are non-existent......plus they do not immunize their citizens.

Mexicans are pouring over our borders bringing all kinds of deadly diseases-----including leporosy.

Is vote-hungry amnesty-obsessed Obama protecting US citizens from these diseases?

So it sounds like it will end up with a name, MONTEZUMA’S REVENGE FLU OF MEXICO.

I’m confused, we are immunized against the swine flu? What effect would other immunizations have in protecting someone against the swine flu?

So a group of clueless kids, propagated by equally clueless parents, take a PC trip to a third world country and wind up making disease the noteworthy keepsake of their journey. And what have they learned? It’s Bush’s fault, of course!

>>>>> Mexicans are pouring over our borders bringing all kinds of deadly diseases-——including leporosy. <<<<<

A year or two ago there was some discussion and a bit of reporting on the resurgence of TB cases in the U.S.A.

The raw numbers seemed to cluster around areas with large illegal alien populations.

But then the reporting seemed to stop, and (as I recall) there was some problem with the CDC numbers or the epidemiology because country-of-origin/immigration status of the victims was not recorded, or perhaps simply withheld by the CDC due to some bogus “privacy” concerns (i.e., releasing non-identified stats on TB status, sex, nationality, and immigration status are not remote “privacy” issues by any conceivable federal statute).

I don’t recall all the details, just that there was some reporting, and then it stopped.

Very similar to the extreme and very dangerous hesitance of CDC to identify Mexican jalapenos and serrano peppers as the source of last year’s salmonella outbreak.

While it was crystal clear from the very get-go that the problem centered around Hispanic food, the CDC never to my recollection was honest enough to say that most (all?) of the early victims were themselves Hispanic, e.g. Mexicans in America.

You could get all of that from reading between the lines (it was fairly obvious), but it was like reading some controlled-press Commie propaganda broadsheet where you have to divine the truth through innuendo and guessing.

The timing is a perfect fit for this theory. Some kids from the school spend Easter week in Cancun April 13 to April 19.

School reopens 6 days ago at Saint Francis Prep on Monday April 20. With 100 or so kids sick, I am guessing that that the Mexican Swine Flu is highly contagious, is airborne, and has a 2-3 day incubation.

Prophyaxis is Tamiflu 75 mg per day for one week after exposure. Treatment is Prophyaxis is Tamiflu 75 mg per day twice per day, plus all supportive measures, for one week after onset.

The Mexican Swine Flu can be easily prevented (and treated) by Tamiflu or Relenza. It is highly airborne infectious and has perhaps a 2 day incubation. This young lad in New York just recovered with no problems.

When did this overseas trips to places like Cancun start becoming common? Seems to me to be a fairly pricey trip. And potentially dangerous for a variety of reasons. I wouldn’t let a kid go on a weekender with their senior class to Cancun - but then again, I’m a very mean man.

Thanks for having a cool head and some clarity on this issue. I’ve had to tangle with some folks who insist that they are smart and wise to panic. They must not know what ‘panic’ means.

I'm sure that John McCain would tell us that poor people with deadly communicable diseases need to work in the US too.

I just read that Dallas, Texas has confirmed three more cases! I didn’t know they already had any. They are hiding a lot from us already I think.
