The man is a bankrupt scam artist who sucks people into paying him to tell them how to not spend money — I got the same advice from my grandfather for nothing 60 years ago.

[Ramsey is on FNC often]

I only watch Special Report and O’Reilly. I’m not familiar with Dave Ramsey but have to tell you that captioning often covers up names that are posted below people.

Not much you can do about it and it’s a pain. I might recognize his face.

We went to a local church here in Buffalo - It was great!
HIS kind of HOPE I can live with.

Let’s be positive folks! That’s a start.

That was absolutely awesome!

Dave has a great attitude.

He spoke about how, through giving, the American churches could outweigh Washington. Wish he had spent some more time on this and fleshed it out a little.

He’s on Fox Business every weekday. He’s got good ideas, and we’ve always done what he preaches. It’s nice to hear about others who’ve changed their lives by getting a handle on their finances.

I knew it was not MSN

Two TVs were OK most of the time

EO on the big TV was iffy

Online fiberoptic phone link was on and off

Over about a 4 hour period it got worse

Dave Ramsey pretty much saved us from financial ruin...just over a year ago we were barely holding it together (and that’s being generous). I borrowed his book ‘Total Money Makeover’ from the library—dh read it in 2 days and then asked me when we were going to get started LOL.

To date (since 4/1/08) we have paid over $15,800 in debt off, with another $1200 to go and then we are debt free except for our house. With 4 kids (2 in Catholic school with another headed there this fall) and one income of $3600/month, we are doing outstanding. We have emergency savings, we have savings for Christmas, pet care, car maintenance and home maintenance. Everything gets budgeted every single month. We use cash for everything except gas for the cars (debit cards). No more juggling bills, no more wondering what we’re going to do if one of the cars needs work or the A/C goes on the fritz. We shredded all the credit cards and never intend to have one ever again.

Sure, it means eating out pretty much never and not buying a lot of fancy stuff, but we’re fed, we’re clothed, and we can get from point A to point B in two paid-for cars.

As a added benefit, the reduction in financial stress does wonders for the marriage. :)

As I ran out the door to the simulcast I was thinking that the only thing that would make investing right now NOT a good idea is if the market has not hit it’s lowest. Everyone has to make their best estimation of that and hope they are right!

Sounds like replays on Fox this weekend, at the link.

Well worth a ping out later!

I wasn’t able to do the simulcast thing.

What was the recommendation about what to do with our cash, how to invest it?
