Why Meghan McCain Is Right
Pajamas Media ^ | April 21 | Jazz Shaw

Meghan McCain, whose father apparently ran for some political office at one time, certainly knows how to attract attention. Unfortunately, at least among doctrinaire Republicans, it’s generally of the wrong sort.

Her most recent outing was a speech delivered to the Log Cabin Republicans’ 2009 convention. In an occasionally rambling but hopeful address, Ms. McCain drew fire from the punditry for daring to give voice to an ugly truth which many party loyalists would rather not contemplate: if the ideological purists of the GOP — particularly the social conservatives — wish to thin the herd by driving all the RINOs from their midst, they are dooming the Republicans to a future as a regional party with little hope for electoral success on a national level.

She may be young and lacking a deep well of life experience from which to draw, but kids still do say the darnedest things.

This young lady bravely speaks to a younger generation of conservatives....

“This young lady bravely speaks to a younger generation of conservatives...”

“wish to thin the herd by driving all the RINOs from their midst”

And why would that be a bad thing? All of the RINOs need to be thrown across the aisle to the Socialist Party, where they belong!

Then I'm the second.

Per Google Jazz Shaw is a former Republican. LOL!

This young lady bravely speaks to a younger generation of conservatives

This young RINO cowardly attacks conservatives to endear herself to generations of liberals.

So many critics of the "Get the RINOs out" campaign forget that Leftwingtards are Leftwingtards and they will never vote for a Republican.

We can only hope to find the Democrats running people of such criminal sensibilities that the Leftwingtards are inspired to just stay home.

Now that's not enough to convince all Democrats to stay home, but we only need enough of them to note vote so that we win.

What exactly ARE the rules regarding adding “Barf Alerts” to certain headlines when posting articles at FR? I haven’t been able to find anything “official” on this subject.

How is it brave or enlightened to support gay activism? Explain that to me. The same goes for abortion. One doesn’t even have to be religious to understand that those issues which have been foisted on America solely by the left as an attack on not just religion but the very foundations of the family structure. Give me a break. Being friendly to homos and offering pity parties for those who want to kill their unborn babies is not bravery. It is stupidity.

Or, the RINOs could thin the herd by driving all the social conservatives from their midst. They saw how far that gets them in the last election. The only good thing Meghan’s daddy did was find Sarah Palin. Without her to energize the BASE, daddy’s loss would have made George McGovern look good.

Nowadays, conservative republican = RINO

The party has proven that it is not conservative, end of story.

Us conservatives must look elsewhere.

I know I get all my political ideals, goals and aspirations from silver spoon daughters of moderate Rhino Republicans. Why can’t everybody see the light?

Meghan McCain ‘12!

I loved some of the replies, especially this one:

13. Bruce:

All RINOs need to read the Federalist Papers, biographies of the founding fathers (Alf Mapp’s two volumes of Jefferson first), and: Ludwig von Mises’ “Bureaucracy” and “Human Action” Friedrich Hayek’s “Road to Surfdom” but perhaps novels such as Ayn Rand’s is all Megan’s capable of, so I suggest, with all her artie preparation, “Fountainhead”. That’ll shut her up, since she obviously is one of those that reads slowly with their finger poking out the words while mouthing them.

Apr 21, 2009 - 5:22 am

(Although I have to say that Hayek knew absolutely nothing about finding big ocean waves and what to do with them.)

The term RINO is now meaningless since the GOP is overwhelmingly infected with liberals posing under a republican (conservative) banner.
