Once citizens take to the streets it blows it all wide open.

No, it is more interesting than that because the left takes to the street all the time and the right never does, they are silent. The right has to be very very pissed before it takes this type of step. I think I would be worried also if I was in government, and gee, look how worried the left has become this week to take the steps that make them look like paranoid commies or nazi governments. It has been an interesting week to say the least.

Makes one wonder about these next 4 years.

I especially liked the one that said:

I put the Fed Gov’t down as a dependent this year.

I swear I don’t remember anyone filming me. I do remember a guy from The Wave taking a pic of my sign. Don’t know if they’ll print it or not.

Heh.

Just so fellow Freepers do not think I spend my life going to Tea Parties, within 25 miles of our house —south, north, east and west there were six Tea Parties. So many parties, so little time. We had a real choice of parties and realized once we got going why quit. Neither of us has ever protested before but we made up for it today.

Hi there!!! First...it trully was wonderful to meet you today...like I said upthread...after all the Q/R Morning threads it was like I knew you forever! It was fun to share this historic afternoon with you, FRiend! Hope SmokeyB stops by...and maybe visits us on “the Q/R thread” Ray, and his friends were interesting to talk to...great being with kindred spirits. Hope to meet the rest of our W. PA crew soon.

Sneakers your pix are awesome!!! The signs were great... Esp.our friend with the flag poncho (and you don’t cut off anyones heads like I do). Anyway, my broadband router isn’t routing, and we are passing my phone around
to read about the day. What great turn outs everywhere!!!

My HS freshman son said TWO of his teachers were talking about the tea parties (we are lucky, somehow we managed to get conservative teachers in our district). My college son (the one who didn’t show up) said one of the univ. Professors said “the nuts have taken over Greensburg.”. Oh well...two out of three educators aren’t bad!

Any news on Rose’s second appearance in Little Washington? I guess if no one posts, we’ll hear in the morning!

For thread tracking, it was announced that our town of McAllen, TX had approximately 1,000 at the Tea Party. They also announced a count of 600-ish for Brownsville TX.

Sergio Sanchez from KURV talk radio was there along with other speakers. A very good turn out.

I just got back from the Richmond, Virginia Tea Party. I didn’t think I’d be able to go, but at the very last minute it worked out. Unfortunately I didn’t have my camera with me.

As we got closer to the event site traffic got pretty bad, but we managed to find parking fairly easily. We saw a LOT of people walking towards Kanawha Plaza with signs in tow.

When we reached the site it was 6 p.m., the event was beginning. There were so many people there that I never did get to actually SEE the stage. I could see an sea of signs....everywhere! And lots of umbrellas....it was raining and cold.

I can’t really estimate the turnout as I never could find a vantage point to look at the crowd. I do know that Kanawha Plaza was too small for everyone. One of the speakers estimated over 5000 people.

The turnout was GREAT, the speakers were GREAT and there was just a good vibe all around. I’m so glad it worked out that I could go.

I look forward to seeing pictures!

I am all in favor of Free Speech, but POLITE Free
Speech. The building/room Tancreado was speaking in was filled to capacity. There was a huge crowd of troublemakers outside who tried to get in. The police tried to keep them out, a window was broken, tear gas was used and one officer pulled his taser but did not use it.

Today the President of the university issued a letter that admonished the students and apologized to Tancreado. The pinheads that did this cost me, a taxpayer of NC, money. The students embarrassed the university and they were very fortunate someone was not hurt. There is enough video of the event to identify some of those pinheads. They should be kicked out of school—this was not Free Speech it was almost a mob running wild.

I was trying to remember where FReepers were meeting up and just couldn’t...like I said, I didn’t think I was going to be able to go. I would’ve loved to meet everyone.

The PA system definitely wasn’t strong enough, but atleast most of the speakers could speak LOUDLY...lol!

It was a great time.

I just got back from the Franklin, TN Tea Party. The crowd was HUGE!!! Nashville, Kingston, and Mt. Juliet had large crowds also. Not good at estimating but I’m going with close to 1,000 in Franklin. I’ll keep a check for the official tally.

Good crowd, very nice except for one jerk who couldn’t help but voice his displeasure at seeing a black female conservative. His words were, ‘wanna be conservative who doesn’t make enough money to be a Republican’. I laughed, considering he has no idea how much I make. Overall, an amazing and proud day.

Anyway, I took pictures and will attempt to post them.
