Thousands of people jammed onto the steps of the state capitol this afternoon to lash out against proposed tax increases, but only a few turned up at a similar rally in Seattle.

One state trooper said the crowd of 4,000 was eight times larger than what rally organizers planned for. The trooper said it was the largest rally at the Capitol in years.
In stark contrast stood a Lake City rally at the same time, which had a draw of two dozen.
The Olympia crowd cheered when speakers called President Barack Obama a socialist and waved their American flags and signs reading "Save Our Children Stop Spending" to "Party like 1773," in reference to the 1773 Boston Tea Party.
Though the event was part of a national tax day tea party movement, there were no attendees dressed in colonial garb. Janice Gammill of Graham wore a necklace fashioned out of tea bags — peppermint and green tea "for the greenies" she added.
"I'm just worried about the direction our country is going," said Gammill, who attended the event with her daughter and her domestic partner, who also were adorned with tea bags.
Jon Allsop of Lopez Island said the federal government is "totally out of control."

I was raised in Duluth. I left to join the Army in 73 been back twice since. I still have two brothers living there. Ones a loser, the other has his own construction business. Ever hear of Jerry Wolk? He owns Wolk construction. He used to live in Cloquet. Talk about a Socialist enclave. Sheesh.

I am so overwhelmed by it all. Because I don’t care how much they ignore us...THIS IS AMAZING!!!
This is utterly and completely amazing. They did their best to mock us, to put us down, to pretend it wouldn’t happen.
But THOUSANDS....tens of thousands...of Americans managed to come out all across the country....little towns, big towns, blue states, red states....
...the congress critters are watching folks. Because this isn’t about the Dems, God forbid, or even the blow-dried, polished-fingernailed, suntanned pubs with their friends across the aisle.
These are ordinary Americans and don’t forget the statistic, folks and friend of mine....for every person who goes out to the streets to protest....there are TEN MORE who sympathize and couldn’t make it.
This excepts groups like Acorn that PAYS protesters.
They are all law-abiding, they are good people, they carry this country on their backs.
I am just so impressed. And proud.
Maybe Obama doesn’t know what the hell he is doing at all?

I wonder if the conservatives are evil homeland security report was designed and timed to allow stimulus money to track conservatives at these tea parties. (ok a bit tin foil hat) but remember, leftists are all about PREVENTING the next ronald reagan.
