Obama Admin Paralyzed by 4 Somali Pirates In a Lifeboat ( MS works to paint Obama as a Hero )
Flopping Aces ^ | Scott

Posted on 04/13/2009 6:29:43 AM PDT by Ernest_at_the_Beach

Floppingaces has been reporting on the problem of Somali Piracy for well over a year now. Most of those reports have originated from Bill Roggio’s The Long War Journal. Finally, the mainstream media can no longer ignore the problem, and it’s “suddenly” in the news…well, it ain’t news to our readers. They’ve seen this problem go unaddressed for a long time.

They’ve seen Somali pirates seize ships carrying hazardous materials-materials so toxic that entire villages were wiped out and the UN suspected WMD! Our readers have read about ships carrying a dozen Soviet-built main battle tanks seized by Somali pirates. They’ve even read about a supertanker being taken. Now the pirates have attacked an American-flagged vessel. The crew fought back (like Americans on Flight 93 fought back). The Captain was taken by the 4 surviving pirates, and they left in a lifeboat.

Luckily, we have President Obama in the White House. His “talks without preconditions” foreign policy can’t possibly fail (oops, the boat carrying a negotiator was fired on and driven back by the 4 pirates). His reputation as a man of conviction, courage, and fearlessness no doubt will scare the pirates into letting go of the heroic American Captain (oops, the 4 pirates in the lifeboat said their not afraid). Surely the 4 pirates will hand over their hostage any time now, right?

I dunno’ . . . I thought the people on the scene saw an opening and shot the bastard . . . didn’t know he waited for the Most Merciful and All-Knowing to pull the trigger. It’s amazing how they’re ginning up some kind of macho and concerned president when the ba$tard wouldn’t even field an answer the other day . . . and the Sec of State cackled . . . what am I missing . . . American pulls a trigger, shoots the pirate, kills him, and captain is freed. Where does Dumbama fit into this picture?

In this time of economic difficulty in the USA, with the ranks of the unemployed swelling, with cities and towns having money difficulties, and even the Federal government having cash problems, I behooves and American to do his bit.
Would someone please post the adress where I could send a check to cover the costs of the BULLETS used to eliminate the pirates and free the brave AMERICAN captain. If anyone else would like to chip in, we’ll split the cost. It is the least we should do.

Yesterday the articles starting flowing re: Obama gave them ‘standing orders’ to kill the pirates twice. Right, sure he did. Not one mention of his waiting while worrying about ‘housing’, St. Louis pizza and the dog. As he sat there and let the world (and Islam), see he really did bend the knee and Hillary laughed as she exclaimed how Morocco helped us (um no). But Obama’s such a hero... this was a test on the scale of 9/11 (don’t get me started on the press taking the ruffles off his pink panties).

Someone must have noticed the blog reports re: presser on how it really went down (from Blackfive, others),since then the MSM started to finesse their previous articles. Also, unknown to them, African papers wrote how revenge was coming (sure you’ll see it here, let’s see if it gets much play in the MSM, if it does they’re using it to distract re: absence of previous ‘sea terrorists’ that somehow go poof after given to Odinga and of course now they want money for a huge force to fight them, cough).

I watched that press conference myself and stopped it in area's that I wanted to make sure I heard it correctly..I watched live so in the mean time I am sure the liberal media put their spin on it..While watching I payed real close attention to the question Did Obama give the orders..well it seemed to me that he did not directly give any orders,he said if the life of the CPT was in danger, well stupid his life was in danger the minute your brothers took him..I really believe Obama did not want to get into it with his fellow Muslims..When I saw the person asking questions from AP it hit me, how the spin would be on..as a matter a fact I saw a bunch of lazy reports(if you want to call them reporters)slouching around like they could care less..writing notes at times not all the while..so all put their spin on what was said..

Obama is a dead beat and he should be kept away from life threatening situations..I am so glad that CPT Phillips is still alive..I thank God!

I cannot possibly have read EVERYTHING, of course, but to date I have yet to read one word about the captain THANKING the president. As I recall, Capt. Phillips thanked the Navy and the Seals, his crew, AND the American people. Have I missed something?

My comments on two other threads reveal the truth of the so-called "orders" to kill the terrorists (aka "pirates").

Regards . . . Penny

Last week Obama was busy with housing and his staff said he had other people looking at this issue. So who really made the call?

What in Sam Hill do they think this is... a stick up, kidnapping and stolen car in Kansas (with a ransom demand of course)? I’m surprised ACORN didn’t send someone to protest a la Pali aid, that possession is 9/10ths of the the law and the pirates should stay on the vessel with a bailout.

Sounds like we’ve done this before.

We know how that turned out.

I can imagine the snipers humming the Marine Hymn, saying screw this and taking them out.

I can also imagine the O already sent them money as well... and they still didn’t let them go.

But that’s just me.

Next headlines: He was waiting so we could take out the whole network on land as well (following money, locations, door to door interviews by corrupted police...), to take out the whole network; But when he saw (sure, he was watching and briefed every minute), the gun pointed at him, he said ‘I shall not stand for this’ and wants to press charges on the snipers for it taking a second order before killing the pirates. Maybe he’ll send Joe out as well. Behind the scenes the remaining pirate will get housing where his aunt is, citizenship and a check... because he’s just a victim of an imperialist society and years of colonization. /s

Question: What’s Odinga doing?

Keep an eye open for a revival of the “politruk” a Russian term used to describe a commissar or political officer, we have seen them in movies most notably The Hunt for Red October.

I think those hostage negotiators had more specific orders than just being what they were described.

Obama is very much aware of where loyalty lies in the military and fears it greatly. He wants complete control of the military before he can break it down into a neutered guard dog.

This affair is one more mile in our journey to Bizarro-World. Even Charles Johnson over at LGF had a post congratulating obama on a job well done, with an admonition to his critics to do the same. The subsequent thread had the usual posters in sycophantic agreement. It appears to be gone now. Surreal. This administration and its incessant propaganda is having an effect on 'our' side.

I’m kind of in your camp, and I was discussing this the other day. My view is that Conservatives can act like whining meemies on every little fault or non-fault of 0bama or can attempt to select issues that have meat on their bones. “Choose your battles” if you will. Some criticized me for not pointing out every little defect or perceived fault of 0bama, claiming we have to attack on every front. While accepting the argument, I don’t agree. We have to ackonlwedge at some point that we are out media’ed and outstupided.

AFAIK, there’s literally no way to know whether 0bama gave the order, didn’t give the order, wished them well, hated their white asses, or pretended to go to church. And IMO it doesn’t matter. The SEALs op was a success, he’ll be credited. End of story. Had it failed, he would have been critical and would have wanted more negotiating time. In the bumper-sticker depth of thinking that prevails, that’s what we have to work with.

From this AP report, it seems clear to me that the Commander of the USS Bainbridge laid out the elements he deemed required that would justify use of the Rules of Engagements he ordered. Officer: Split-second decision to open fire

"A U.S. military official says Navy Seals and other officers opened fire on three pirates when a Navy commander made a split-second decision that an American hostage's life was in danger.

Vice Adm. Bill Gortney also says the pirates made a ransom demand for the release of Capt. Richard Phillips.

Gortney says the pirates threatened throughout the ordeal to kill Phillips. Gortney says the pirates were armed with AK-47s and small-caliber pistols, and were pointing the AK-47s at the captain.

Gortney says the commander of the nearby USS Bainbridge believed Phillips was in "imminent danger" when he ordered sailors to fire at the armed pirates.

Gortney says the White House had given "very clear guidance and authority" that if any time the commander Capt. Phillips' life was in danger to take action to make sure it was not.

It seems to me that the Commander said the Captain was alwasy in danger, Obama finally gave the go-ahead (twice?) on Friday night to take "action" if the Captain was in danger. The Commander merely waited for and/or created the opportunity to take simultaneious sniper shots on all three pirates. The Commander did the right thing. I doubt Obama realized the situation was being set up the way it was by the Commander. He and the Navy deserve all the credit.

Oh, you haven’t seen Bizarro World yet...

http://www.infowars.com/you-are-being-lied-to-about-pirates/

They’re great socialists (in a Jim Jones way I guess) and defenders of their coast... and so misunderstood.

(No mention of the cargo on the ship, request for ransom)
