Not even the sky is the limit to crackpot environmental theories these days. On Wednesday, presidential science adviser John P. Holdren told the Associated Press that it might be necessary to blow pollution into the atmosphere to shield the sun's rays and stave off global warming. His hyperbole is even scarier than his science. According to Mr. Holdren, the planet is in so much trouble that it is like a "car with bad brakes driving toward a cliff in the fog." Not only is the world at a "tipping point," but we also face "really intolerable consequences" if drastic action isn't taken immediately.
The hysterics could be humorous if so much were not at stake. Mr. Holdren's humble recommendation is to try to engineer the world's climate. One idea is to manufacture a giant artificial volcano big enough to envelope the world with its ash cloud. Behind all this weird science are government plans that will cost billions of dollars. Already, President Obama has proposed a radical cap to cut carbon-dioxide emissions by 80 percent, which White House staffers have estimated could cost the economy as much as $2 trillion over the next eight years alone.
Mr. Holdren is a habitual harbinger of doom, and his past record on apocryphal predictions is abysmal. In 1980, . . . .

I hope I live long enough to see people go to prison for perpetrating this “climate change” hoax on other people. Taking advantage of other people’s gullibility just isn’t fair.
Just imagine how SCREWED we’d all be if AlGore had actually WON the Presidential election?
These clowns aren’t just funny: they’re bloody dangerous. Artificial volcanoes? Melting the polar ice caps? These clowns need to be certified and committed, ASAP, before somebody hurts themselves.

Holdren’s certitude cannot be backed with fact. He’s a throwback to the flat earthers.
What happens if you mix a long term decline in temperature due to a solar minimum with an attempt to lower them even farther by reflecting the warmth of the sun back into space? You get an agricultural disaster which leads to widespread famine. Man has been using starvation as a weapon of war for centuries. Thats what laying siege to a castle or city is all about. You starve them until they surrender. Examine the famine that ocurred during the little ice age and you will see what colder temperatures and shorter growing seasons can do to food supplys.
Or you could just wait for the additional cloud cover predicted from global warming to accomplish the same thing. The modelers for some unknown reason assume additional cloud cover is going to accelerate warming. I think the seem to believe that the earth is warmer on a cloudy day than it is on a sunny day. This one faulty assumption is the only reason the models show that global warming will accelerate out of control.
Good point! You’re probably right. (In fact, I know you are). Liberals don’t like people denying them the opportunity to get rich with other people’s money.

They want to shoot sulphur into the air - back in the day that caused acid rain and the left wanted to arrest utility executives. Now it is supposed to help the environment. Can these idiots get their story straight? Just like the Earth was cooling in 1970 and now it is heating up.

That's cuz those bozo's think cloud cover = milder winter days, therefore =hotter summer days.
In reality excess cloud cover means less "global warming" (the kind where the sun heats the rock and soil) which means the radiant heat lost at night (radiant heat loss to space)isn't slowed by the slower release of absorbed radiant heat from the sun in the soil rock and surface waters over night, which means cooler mornings and ovewr all cooler days.
I wonder if Obama knows about his background as a charlatan. This could get legs.
Because I live in the northern part of the world which is covered with snow 6 months of the year, I can observe radiant heat loss, how cloud cover effects it, and how little the atmosphere has to do with heat retention on a clear winter night.
A cloudy, overcast night in the dead of winter, Jan 15th or there bouts, is about -25c. compared to a clear starlit night which is about -45c.
The lawyers will destroy whatever country is foolish enough to actually do something to change weather patterns.
That country will be blamed for floods, famine, you name it.

Ahhh! Lawyers won’t touch that one. They know the first one to try will bring about a wrath on lawyers that is long long overdue.
