SALINAS, Calif. - A California man accused of selling his 14-year-old daughter into marriage for $16,000, beer and meat has pleaded no contest to felony child endangerment.

Marcelino de Jesus Martinez had pleaded not guilty in February to procuring a child for lewd acts, aiding and abetting statutory rape and child endangerment. If convicted of those charges he faced 10 years in prison.

Just another father doing the selling of his daughter into marriage that American fathers won't do.

Maybe it's just my bigoted self.

But gosh, does it not seem that every time an underage girl is raped, or a wife/girl friend is severely beaten, the perp tends to have a Latino name?

It sure seems so around my area.

Flame away.

Would this have been OK in Mexico?

...and one more thing.

Does it not seem that the more serious the crime against a woman/girl is, the more likely the loser perp is named Jesus?

We’re talking Mexican peasant - somebody who is living in a prior century, when girls were considered marriageable at 14-15 (remember, the Virgin was about that age when she was married to Joseph) - and he pleaded guilty and is accepting the punishment.

What’s going to happen when Barry makes the US accept sharia in the next year or so is that this won’t even be a crime and in fact will be the normal way of doing things. Islam is very backwards and, like this Mexican peasant, harks back to a time when childbirth was perilous, women didn’t live very long, and you had to marry them off early, collect the dowry, and hope that they lived long enough to give you heirs. The difference is that this is a cultural thing with this Mexican peasant, but it’s an enshrined legal thing with Islam.

I can’t imagine why the feminists love both Barry and Islam, but they do, and we’re going to see this legalized in the US probably within the next couple of years. Probably the Mormons will also be involved, because many of them are very defensive about that colony of “primitive Mormons” that were basically running a brood mare facility for the chosen ones.

Oh, brother. Where to begin.

Answer my own question. Thank you Google. YES DAUGHTERS MAY BE MARRIED AT AGE 14 IN MEXICO WITH PARENTAL PERMISSION!

The guy’s second mistake was thinking that US law was copacetic with this. (The first mistake was coming over as an illegal.)

EVERYONE should read the story at the link.

“Martinez went to police to get his daughter back because payment wasn’t made.”

This Mexican bloke would be laughed at by Bangkok fathers who have an entire stable of daughters on the auction block.

Sorry, this was not a California man.

This was one of Bush's good friends, and just another illegal alien, that is costing American citizens billions every year.

No flames. After only seeing the headline, my first thought “another great muslim father selling his daughter.” But seeing as this was in CA, your guess at Mexican was much better. Hey, we deal with reality. There are 20 million illegal mexicans here, a portion of which are committing crimes. Most times when there is a horrible car accident, robbery, or worse, the perp turns out to be an illegal mexican. Being real is not being a bigot. Cheers!

SALINAS??

Aw, crap. I have work partners who hail from there.

Better not mention it in our next conversation, they'd get mad at me.

Cheers!
