What’s an “immigration services center” and what do they do there?

A sad event and I would rather that people didn’t get to such a point.

What do they do? Well, looks like some good things and some things that may be controversial with others. Read the success stories and the mission statement there.

Immigrants go there in order to be “serviced?”

Sad, sad day in upstate NY. I wonder how long it will take the drive-bys to switch from the tragedy of murder at the hands of a lunatic to the “evil” of guns?

It will become like the streets in Mexico and I would bet it won’t be long.

Another criminal free to kill because all the victims have been disarmed.

Jiverly Voong is his name. “Jiverly”? Must be from Chicago.

I think this guy was a frustrated vietnamese immigrant that, had he been hispanic, would have gotten a free and easy pass into the USA.

He was laid off from his job at IBM. No doubt he was replaced by a foreigner working for less. Just another reason we need to close our borders now.

Voong is shown as a Vietnamese name, not much background on it.

If he was really laid off from his job at IBM, closing the borders would not do a thing.

IBM moved his job from the US to India, and hires a local to do it.

Motive for the killings...

663,000 U.S. Jobs Lost in March — 138,000 More Foreign Workers Given Work Permits

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2221635/posts

This accused killer Voong (Vietnamese version of the Chinese Wong - I believe) is reported to have been only able to speak halting English (if so - how he held a job in the U.S. with IBM — who knows?)

Never the less - Voong could have easily figured out that the local Immigration Support Center was hosting an ever increasing number of new immigrants — while he was BEING LAID OFF (a life threatening outrage to Voong)... No rocket science needed here... I figure he was just resentful to the point of acting out - taking his revenge in a psychotic fashion because he was desperate beyond normal understanding ...

WHEN are people (other than those who read these forums) going to realize that the police are WORTHLESS to protect citizens from bad things happening?

Are our "leaders" -- people in power that stupid, or are they just so fearful of an armed citizenry (or both)?

WHEN is the unarmed citizenry going to wake up and realize that they, and they alone, are responsible for their own safety and become an ARMED CITIZENRY?

I was watching a COPS episode last night. The cop made it clear that in any incident, his first allegiance is to "his family" and making it back home was primary.

Why not be a plumber, if you are not committed to "Protect and Serve". My oldest is now a Lt in a midwest PD. He started driving a cruiser, as a "beat cop". He has worn a vest many times. He has also been under fire. I would hate to see anything happen to my grand children's daddy, but he knows the risks. As a leader, he leads...

OTOH, he would never go along with stuff like the photo below, nor come for your firearms! He will probably be leading against the unlawful acts of Zero and crew!
