Bill Ayers Speech Cancelled at Naperville High & Bookstore

Naperville School District 203 has canceled an April 8 appearance at Naperville North High School by 1960s radical William Ayers, saying any value the visit could have offered students would have been lost in the controversy surrounding the event.

"I simply wasn't comfortable that this was in our students' and our school's best interest," Supt. Alan Leis said Monday. "We tried to put some procedures in place, but clearly our community has let us know that they just don't think that's appropriate."

Naperville is an affluent, conservative Republican suburb about 40 miles west of Chicago. It's also the home town of Sen. Fred Thompson's wife, Jeri.

I didn't think this Ayers crappioli would fly in Naperville.

A bigger question is how does a radical like this get invited to speak in the first place. The leftwing education establishment has no problem inviting an anarchist but would never think of inviting a conservative.

First I have to say Hooray! It seems like some people are finally waking up. BUT - Where were these people before the elections? I mean, I am soooo glad they are speaking out now, but really, it was like half of America was living in the Dark Ages or in some Grimm's Fairy tale type stupor and just sleeping away while their fate was being sealed during the campaign.
