Instead of whining about Steele we need to take concrete action to remove him from office. I have gone through the GOP rules to determine how that can be done and placed segments of the rules above. It seems that any member can submit a resolution to the Committee on Resolutions. For best results we should find out who the members of this committee are and persuade one or more to allow the resolution to go to a vote. We will need a 2/3 majority to actually remove Steele.

The things I don't know and need help with are determining:

Let's make this a reality folks or we will be plagued with RINOs forever.

Steele is not only a RINO and a closet pro-abort, he is also an incompetent.

Sure, there will be screams of racism. But if you have something unpleasant to do that will cause controversy, take Machiavelli’s advice. Do it soon, do it firmly, and get it over with.

It sure as hell won’t help to go on stumbling about under this clown’s leadership for the next two years, and then try to get rid of him during the 2010 campaign season, when his incompetence becomes too clear to deny any longer.

If the MSM screams that the Republicans are “racist,” we just have to say, “We didn’t hear you complimenting us when we appointed Steele. Nothing about historical moments and first black head of the RNC. Why was that?”

I agree. I think any action at this point can be viewed as an act of desperation. The Dems and the media are going to trash whomever we place in this position. Michael just needs to sharpen his message a little bit and begin to call out the liberals/socialists in this country.

Stop this nonsense. My guess is that some of you are not even a Republican or if you are, you don’t seen to care about winning elections but your own agendas.

Can’t some of you put aside your 100% rquirement for purity and work to elect candidates in 2010 instead of worrying what the RNC Chair is doing. At least he is doing something and not just sitting there whether you like him or not. He could be the biggest jerk around and if he gets our candidates elected who cares!

Whine, whine, whine is not becoming to any of you with this nonsense. The man is there to grow the Party and get our candidates elected. He is not running for President.

Some of you want to tear the Party apart even more and would like to know why. As for the pundits that keep after him that keep some of you going, think for yourself. If you have a website and go after the RNC chair you are going to get hits and make money. Have to have controversy.

One word THINK! We have one goal as Republicans and that is to elect enough of our candidates to the House and Senate to slow down ZERO! We need Independents and in a lot of cases some conservative Dems to get our candidates elected. That should trump any other agenda right now when we see daily what ZERO is doing to our Country. If you don’t win elections, you have no say in the agenda as we are witnessing right now.

IOTW, quit wasting time on something that is not going to happen and go volunteer for a campaign where you can do some good. That is my advice for all the naysayers on Steele. We have elections to win and what you want personally needs to take a backseat! Some of you need to Grow Up and realize that you don’t always get your way in politics but we need to elect good candidates to Congress or we will fall farther into socialism that ZERO is pushing.

My two cents!

2010 will be too late.

If the GOP really wants to get conservatives elected...the planning needs to start now. Getting rid of Steele now will help get the GOP ready for 2009

2010 will be another disaster if Steele is still in charge

Thanks for the laugh. The reality is a lot of conservatives think 2010 is a good time to teach the republicans another lesson.

I will try to be polite but you have many things wrong in your response. The first and most obvious is your assertion that we need moderates and democrats. This strategy is EXACTLY why we are in the mess we are in. That is a FAILED strategy proven time and time again. You can thank McCain as the latest poster boy.

Secondly, Steele is NOT working to elect candidates. He is working to stroke his own ego and elevate his visibility. He's already said he might consider a presidential run. He hasn't hired half the people he needs to and the organization is floundering because of this and other examples of his ineptness. He is NOT a good spokesperson for us and is NOT a strong leader. In short, he is not doing the job he was sent to do.

Finally, you have no idea what my personal goals are. I AM a member of the GOP and my belief is that Steele needs to go for the good of the party and the good of the country. I will not profit from any of this. I've already spent way too much time THINKING about this when I could have been making money. Thanks for your concern about my income stream though.

Steele needs to refrain from insulting and attacking Republicans. It isn’t his job, and it will make him a failure in his job. He can’t make jokes about drinking the Potomac water, and then undermine conservatives who are battling those who drink the Potomac water. Steele sees himself as part of the intellectual crowd in the Republican Party, but the intellectual crowd, as they think of themselves, are a non-intellectual joke with nothing to offer but the liberalization of conservatism. Steele should extricate himself from the wreckage of the past two elections, and get to the business of articulating the conservative message.
