Secondly, Steele is NOT working to elect candidates. He is working to stroke his own ego and elevate his visibility. He's already said he might consider a presidential run. He hasn't hired half the people he needs to and the organization is floundering because of this and other examples of his ineptness. He is NOT a good spokesperson for us and is NOT a strong leader. In short, he is not doing the job he was sent to do.
Finally, you have no idea what my personal goals are. I AM a member of the GOP and my belief is that Steele needs to go for the good of the party and the good of the country. I will not profit from any of this. I've already spent way too much time THINKING about this when I could have been making money. Thanks for your concern about my income stream though.
Hear! Hear! I couldn't have said it better.
We have had numbers (even majorities in both houses) in the recent past, but they were Republicans who didn't believe in our party's platform. The result was more irresponsible spending and earmarks, larger government, and a huge blurring of the lines between where the Democrat and the Republican Parties stand on the issues.
Moving to the left to elect liberal to moderate Republicans will only serve to blur the lines further. We need a conservative litmus test for all of our candidates - and for our party chairman as well.
