PRESIDENT GAFFE'S BIGGER PROBLEMS!
Townhall.com ^ | 03.22.09 | Kevin McCullough

Posted on 03/21/2009 9:41:53 PM PDT by jodiluvshoes

hen 84% of the American people, according to the AOL Hot Seat weekend poll, think a joke you cracked on late night television was either tone-deaf/insensitive or worse yet flat-out offensive then you might think you have problems. (Heh who are we kidding? You do! You do!) Just because Britain's largest daily newspaper has a top ten gaffe reel assembled and online before your presidency is barely 60 days old, you might believe that you're the laughingstock of serious members of the world community of leaders. (Again, likely, you're right.) And when you take the time to address an Islamic Republic via YouTube (after they had been burning you in effigy for weeks) with a plea to come to the table of intellects and have a philosophical wine and cheese night about how the world looks in your unicorn-excretion of utopia, but can still hear the ripple of laughter from Tehran five days later, you might even wonder if you deserve it. (Again, batting a thousand on this one champ!)

Now if these elements composed the entire universe of faux pas committed in your time in office then you might even be able to withstand them.

But if these embarrassments followed things like giving the Prime Minister of Britain twenty-five DVD's that were not even compatible with European media players, or accepting priceless gifts from fellow heads of state that were made out of the very historical relics that loosed the chains holding freedom from people like you from being able to achieve your dreams, then it just begin to looks tacky.

But the truth is Mr. President you're not tacky.

You're cheap. Selfish. You bathe in arrogance. And your words sans teleprompter are cruel, cutting, and more times than not confusing.

Biden would be better than Obama because he’d be such a laughingstock nothing would get done in DC. He doesn’t have the clout Obama does.

I like gridlock. When there’s gridlock in DC the American people do better.

Obama has lost this Presidency. I know it is only 60 days, but when he signed the “Stimulus” bill that was written purely along ideological lines and had very little stimulus in it, he effed up not only the US economy but the global economy. The world has reacted accordingly.

Obama, you screwed the US and yourself because YOU are so ideologically blind and rule from the hard left despite history proving over and over again that socialism/communism are failed economic models. Because you are such a Mental Midget (profit to earnings ratio - hello a white President would have had his ass handed him with that gaffe) the world has little chance of surviving this melt down. You own this melt down with the trillions of non-stimulus dollars you signed into law.

This pres_ent was put into office by a mob...a bunch of freeloaders and ne'er-do-wells looking for something-for-nothing.

For a "free doctor visit", they are willing to destroy the greatest health care system in the history of the world; for a free color TV they'll sign a pledge to outlaw the use of fossil fuels and hope their new solar panel will build up enough power to watch Oprah each day.

Their UNwillingness to life their sorry asses out of bed and actually go to work will mean that the very people contributing most to this country will now be burdened even more than ever - tax refunds to people who don't even pay taxes...is that stupid, or what?

Commiebama is building his army, and his power, and will attempt a coup before he quits; he has allusions of granduer and we already know he's mostly a "showboat". He couldn't run a lemonade stand.

The commiebama presidency is about commiebama, and that's it. His ignorance-based ego makes bill clinton look like a piker.

We made it through four years of carter, and 8 years of clinton, but I'm not sure we'll even make four years with commiebama.

I remember Denzel Washington as Hurricane Carter in the movie "Hurricane" getting pulled over after the murder. The officer said that they were looking for two black guys. Denzel says "Any two'll do?" sarcastically.

You people waiting desperately for a black President: ANY black will do??

It’s obvious that this newfound pride is not confined to Americans alone. All across the world, Mr. Obama’s election has helped mend America’s tattered image as a racist, violent cowboy, willing to retaliate with bombs at the slightest provocation. The huge outpouring of international support following the election shows that America can still win new friendships while rebuilding its old ones, and provides Mr. Obama with unprecedented diplomatic leverage over our remaining enemies. When Russian tanks start pouring into eastern Europe and Iranian missiles begin raining down on Jerusalem, their leaders will know they will be facing a man who not only conquered America’s racial divide but the hearts of the entire Cannes film community. And those Al Qaeda terrorists plotting a dirty nuke or chemical attack on San Francisco face a stark new reality: while they may no longer need to worry about US Marines, they are looking down the barrel of a strongly worded diplomatic condemnation by a Europe fully united in their deep sympathy for surviving Americans.
In his famous speech at the Lincoln Memorial 45 years ago, Dr. King said “I have a dream that one day my children will live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” Let us now take pride that Tuesday we Americans proved that neither thing matters anymore. http://iowahawk.typepad.com/iowahawk/2008/11/election-analysis-america-can-take-pride-in-this-historic-inspirational-disaster.html

Let's talk about the stimulus bill.

There was no time in congress to debate it and amend it, just throw it together and vote!

Then, it was rushed through so fast that the conference committee used Post-It Notes to make changes.

There was no time to read it, just vote!

There was no time to allow the public to view it, just sign it!

Now, we find out about the AIG bonuses (protected in the stimulus) and feign ignorance.

Bottom line: This is sloppy leadership from congress and the White House.

Posted by: Hugh Hewitt:

That’s Mike Allen’s assessment of a proposed health-care and carbon-tax jam down via the Budget Resolution, an end-run around the Senate’s 60 vote rule, which has previously only been used for tax code changes impacting the budget, not major policy proposals like an overhaul of health care and cap-and-trade.

The best argument against the jam down is in the dismal results of recent past jam throughs.

Last fall the Congress pushed through the Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act (”CSPIA”) which is causing the needless destruction of billions of dollars of goods and crippling whole industries.

The stimulus bill itself had numerous screw-ups within it, hidden from view and correction because of the speed with which it was advanced.

The AIG bonuses are a result of carelessness and haste on the part of Team Obama.

Imagine what will happen to your health care or the country’s entire economy if the mad dash methodology is adopted for medicine or cap-and-trade.

The Senate should be in full revolt over the stripping away of its institutional role, and the MSM should be mocking the idea that this was ever a president committed to bipartisanship.
