Sen. John Kerry has sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder asking him to grant asylum to a gay man who was married in Massachusetts and whose husband remains in the state.
Genesio "Junior" Januario Oliveira was forced to return to Brazil in August 2007, when his application for asylum and an appeal were denied.
Oliveira has been married since 2005 to Haverhill businessman Tim Coco.

Why does someone from Brazil need asylum? We wouldn’t grant that request for a real marriage, so why should we consider it for a homosexual? Immigration law should be a collection of laws, not a batch of suggestions to be followed only when the law tells you to do what you would do anyways.

Must be one of them thar “sham” marriages. Like the beautiful Russian Countess that wanted to marry me. Or that gorgeous movie starlet from Thailand. I just hadda send ‘em a bunch of money.
Thailand?
To: presidio9
That would be in violation of the “Defense of Marriage Act” which specifically prohibits federal recognition of “gay marriage”.
To: presidio9
Totally ridiculous. A refusal to recognize gay “marriage” is definitely NOT a reason to grant “asylum”. John Kerry has been a knee jerk, partisan extremist for his entire political career.

Sending Elian Gonzalez back to Cuba was outrageous! Elian Gonzalez wasn't gay, so he had to go back.

I just with I could have been at the winter soldiers meeting in Detroit. I would have ripped him a new one and all his fake friends. It would be simple. "So you were in the service? What is your I.D. number? Everyone remembers theirs. That is how we got paid. And the prefix is important too. They would have failed and been embarrassed.

The Herald needs some remedial journalism classes, to wit:
1. A man cannot have a “husband”, no matter what he says.
2. Two men may live together, but they are not “married”.
3. Instead of reporting on what Kerry does, find out why?
4. Where does the money trail lead?

Therefore, the obvious question is: If it was Venezuala that wanted “Junior” back, would John Kerry be willing to piss off el Presidente. It’s an interesting dilemma: Which trumps which in the enigma that is the liberal mind.

I read the article in full...oh gish...this homosexual was raped by a man in brazil as a teen and is afraid to return...perhaps he was a male prostitute there. At any rate...kerry’s pic accompanies the article and that guy must REALLY be a gigolo...he has had a total face lift....oh ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! What a pervert kerry is....can;t someone send him to Afganistan so that he can demonstrate how he was so courageous in Vietnam? Perhaps he could singlehandedly slay the taliban, oh wait, that’s right, he wants to make NICE with the Taliban. Nevermind.

Is this pic of the lovely couple? If so, I think I can make a correct guess on who plays the girl and who plays the boy in the fantasy world of homosexuality.

A few years ago, Coco was the spokesperson for the Wreath School, a school for "troubled" juveniles. The school wanted to purchase the former campus of Bradford College, which, ensconced as it is in a very residential neighborhood, was not exactly a great place for a school for "troubled" juveniles. Needless to say, the community went apoplectic about the proposed sale, and made such a big stink about it, the sale was squashed and the campus left vacant for years, until it was finally purchased by Zion College.
Coco did NOT shroud himself in glory throughout this whole ordeal. Very disingenuous. Typical PR type.

Just think about how many gays in America will marry gays for other countries, perhaps just to insure citizenship and then dump them and marry another gay from another country - sounds like a huge scam could happen.

I know, that’s why it is most important that, when reporting the news, one must be accurate. The PC garbage goes first.

That would be a tough one...”shades of nuance” and “layers of complexity” to consider. But, Kerry is first and foremost a “patriot”, you know. He served in Vietnam. So, his first loyalty, and final decision, likely would be toward furthering the leftist cause in Massachusetts and the USA.

I knew a girl that married a Gay guy from South America so he could stay in the country. She got a nice big diamond and an envelope full of cash. She passed out on the Subway a year later with an ailment they couldn’t identify. It was 1986.

WOW - now, that is curious.
I’m thinking that before gays are allowed to marry, big time (God forbide) that a law should be passed covering the marriage factor when one person is not a citizen. Perhaps one time only?

(Hemingway — are you really that Bob L. who sold us the cheap cardboard houses at Bradford College?)
I'm no fan of this gay stuff, but as a neighbor of the former Bradford College, I'd have to say Coco was correct. Some of my neighbors were secretly paid finders fees to speak out against the Wreath School and now regret it. The back 40 not only has not been preserved as open space, but is now this poorly constructed and largely empty “luxury” cardboard condo complex. The damage to the neighborhood was enormous during the years GFI kept the campus empty in order to force the city into letting them bulldoze it for a strip mall. Coco may want to reconsider his lifestyle choices, but he was the only one honest about GFI.
