How the Fed failed to tell Obama about bonuses (MSM covers for Obama after he's been outed)

Federal Reserve officials knew for months about bonuses at American International Group but failed to tell the Obama administration, according to government and company officials, exposing problems in a relationship that is vital to addressing the financial crisis.

As pressure mounted on AIG employees to return the bonuses, new details emerged yesterday about what the Fed, the Treasury Department and the White House knew regarding the payments and when. AIG executives said the Fed was informed three months ago by the company that it would pay $165 million by March 15 to employees working at its most troubled division. The Treasury and White House said they learned of the payments from Fed officials only days before they were due.

Close coordination between the Fed and the administration is now more important than ever as they near the launch of two signature programs to rescue the financial system, which together could reach $2 trillion and are aimed at reviving consumer lending and purchasing soured assets and loans from ailing banks.

The Treasury and White House said they learned of the payments from Fed officials only days before

Someone help me out here. I had assumed if this somehow proved Obama's innocence that it would have said he only learned of the payments days AFTER, not days BEFORE. They knew beforehand and did nothing, that's all that matters. The number of days is irrelevant.

With David Gregory's wife the (kept secret from viewers) chief legal counsel
for Fannie Mae, is there anyone in America who expects NBC to be 'forthcoming' about ANYTHING?

After Wolf Blitzer eviscerated Dodd yesterday, MSOBAMANBC may be having to work overtime to rescue the haloed one. Somewhere in the recesses of their psyches there exists a newsman in some of these talking heads. And a NEWSman prints NEEEWWWS, as Karl Kolchak used to remind his editor every episode of Night Stalker, the original. Some of these guys may be remembering that responsibility.

What would have been better yesterday is if FOX had at least reported Dodd's on camera equivicating meltdown. They ignored it because CNN had broken the story. Heartache.

In a dramatic reversal Wednesday, Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., confessed to adding language to a spending cap in the stimulus bill last month that specifically excluded executive bonuses included in contracts signed before the bill’s passage.

Dodd told FOX News that Treasury officials forced him to make the change.

“As many know, the administration was, among others, not happy with the language. They wanted some modifications to it,” he said. “They came to us, our staff, and asked for changes, and the changes at the time did not seem that obnoxious or onerous.”

To the MSM the number of days is their way of sugarcoating when Obama really knew, 2 months ago.

"Dodd told FOX News that Treasury officials forced him to make the change.

“As many know, the administration was, among others, not happy with the change."

My question is how much more did Obama and Dodd get for sneking this into the Stimulus Bill?

I can't believe it was only for 100K each. Glenn Beck showed that AIG paid out billions to firms like Goldman Sachs and many others. How do we find out how much each of those firms gave to Obama and Dodd?
