A member at ar15.com sent his congressman a teabag in the mail to protest their spending, and now his congressman's office is threatening him.
The member says, "I told her no malice intended and asked if it was illegal to mail a teabag. I told her it was a in protest in response to the votes of the Congressman. I also told her I thought maybe they would enjoy a good cup of tea this afternoon. She was not amused but acted dumb as to why I sent it. She also said a RECORD of this would be made."
Here is a link to the recording their office left on his voicemail:

I guess the moral of this story is we are there to serve the members of congress - or be reported to the authorities
I think this member needs more tea.
or a good lawyer...
Good. It sounds like you got her attention.
“She also said a record of this would be made.”
Oooooh.
This ignorant twit probably didn’t even get the symbolism
and I’m guessing has probably never even heard of the Boston Tea Party.
The posting really didn’t say who the member of Congress was.
I know that if I sent my member of Congress a tea bag and they called me, hinting that they were gonna turn it over to the “authorities”, I’d have said GO RIGHT AHEAD!
It sounds like the congressional office is trying to practice a little intimidation...heavy emphasis on the word “little”.
I guess the 1st Amendment is dead now. I say bury the congress critter under tea bags.
What’s the deal with all of the threats against private citizens, the WH pressers bashing people, really, WTF????
Area code 856 - New Jersey.
Snotty attitude, condescending toward citizens.
Predictable.

Send her a condom for future use in screwing the American taxpayer.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
These "royalty wannabes" need a remindin' of who's in charge around here...
Bump
Did she say it “would go on your permanent record”?
It's not like the member of ar15.com sent a handful of used brass in protest.
I'm really surprised that anyone in the Capitol got the teabag. I thought they had all their mail opened offsite because of their problems with anthrax.
Based on the phone number left on the voice mail, it is Congressman John Adler’s office
John Adler (3) D
Marlton, NJ 08053-3021
Phone: (856) 985-2777
Fax: (856) 985-2788
I would tend to agree that more tea bags are in order...
I believe this Congresscritter and idiot staffers could use a LOT more tea! I have plenty to contribute!
Who is the Congresscritter anyway??? Any links to more info?
What? She’s not into tea bagging?
