I got no problem with this. People should be permitted to spend their money however they wish, and need not justify their choices to anyone.
Me too, as long as they do it in private. However, once they proudly proclaim their "project" to the media for all to see then that's different. They're fair game for criticism.
You may have no problem with their actions. It still doesn't change the fact that it is still a racist action. It is an especially egregious racist action in a time when minorities in high positions in the current administration are lecturing the rest of us on being "cowardly" as far as racial issues go.
For the record, I don't have an issue with these people either. It's a free country, if they wish to spend their money in a racist, and obviously wasteful manner (think of the extra fuel they must use to do this, and deals closer to home they pass up, solely for the matter of race), more power to them.
But could you imagine the gnashing of teeth if this had been the Ivory experiment? Where someone drove around to white owned businesses?
It would be a lot of driving in my Chaldean area. And let me tell you, I would be called a bigot for it. Personally, I don’t care about color. A black, brown, yellow, orange or green face. Who cares. As long as they are friendly and give me a fair price.
