George W. Bush, his critics said, was isolated and unaware of how badly things were going in Iraq. He was caught up in a messianic vision to bring democracy to the Middle East. Meanwhile, he stubbornly clung to grandiose domestic policy proposals (e.g., social security reform and immigration reform) when the timing was simply not right. Some of that has been disproved by subsequent events (e.g., we did bring democracy to Iraq) or revelations about his own intimate involvement in reworking a failing Iraq strategy. But the image remained of an isolated and out-of-touch president.
As queasy as it might make us feel, we might consider that we have gone from the frying pan into the fire. Obama does not perceive things are substantially worse or that his “strategy” is failing. He also seems to have the timing terribly off as he discusses an onslaught of taxes and regulation while the economy is staggering. And to make matters worse we have no General Petraeus to help guide us back from the brink of ruin. We have instead Tim Geithner....

These folks are buying at rock bottom and will experience an equity gain....home equity, which is now non-existent here in LV, will come back again and these buyers will start to put in pools, landscaping, tile...etc... businesses will ramp up again.

You are absolutely right — it’s the country that doesn’t get it. This US is on the right path to its destruction.
When Bush and Iraq come up at my usually Liberal-dominated town forum, I just ask "With Saddam still in power, would Al Gore or J. F. Kerry had the leadership skills to transport 500 TONS of Uranium ore from Iraq? With minimal upgrading, it would have made many 'dirty bombs'".
Here in Toledo we have about a 15% unemployment rate and it is going to get far worse. One of my friends is a union painter and as of tomorrow his employer has no work even the hospitals do not have work for him at this time. As you can guess they a democrats because of the union. However they do not even want to talk politics because they know how bad they f up.
When unemployment is 20 to 25 percent here in 2 to 3 years, there is no way GWB can get the blame. The congress and O have created a economic mess that will last for years and is not even being fully felt yet. They have created a vicious downward cycle with the spending and the coming tax increases and the more they spend the worse it will get.
Lucky for me I worked very hard when GWB was in office and am now a RN. The economy is so bad here if you do not have a job as a nurse already it is hard to find one. This is not so in other parts of the country that are starving for RNs. I find myself in a position were I am able to stock up on food and water and I am buying one once silver coins just in case ( remember FDR confiscated the gold from the people not the silver). I am not being paranoid just prepared.
The faster the Dems push their socialism on the people the quicker the people will see it does not work, because more businesses will fail. The people will realize that they need business to work so they can eat. It is that simple.
You are on the right track but focus:
Obama intends to destroy private wealth (by crashing the markets and the dollar) so the masses (we) will need to become dependent for their (our)well-being, even survival, on government. They(we) will be more obedient and compliant and easier to rule that way.
Maybe he isn’t clueless. Maybe he’s following a plan:

I think the same thing except that it won't be "simple".
Once people have lost conceivably "everything", they will have very little left to lose in taking it out on the ones who caused that to happen.
That is the critical point at which revolution become more than talk and potentially a very real scenario.
It's the breaking point at which the American couch potato becomes a true predator as a function of personal and family survival.

I really do not understand why people keep acting like O’s incompetence is causing this mess. He knows exactly what he is doing, it’s all going according to plan.
He needs to destroy the economy as quickly as possible so he can continue to blame GWB and the Republicans for the mess and claim that capitalism is failing. The Sheep out there will still fawn on his every word and he’ll be held blameless, even praised for “trying” to fix things. The media will help cover his tracks and look for “enemies”, like Limbaugh. Once he destroys the economy and our will to fight, that he can push his socialist agenda on us.
It’s really very simple.
It is very simple but I do not agree that it is his plan. The plan has been in place for a very long time and he just signed on to it like a very good little MARXIST.
He couldn’t plan his way to the bathroom or to his own dinner table. He does make a fine “Pocket Puppet” though, don’t you think?
He has nothing to offer on his own and he has no class and a very poor image to the civilized world. If you do not believe me just ask the Brits what they think about him right now.
