Looks like Rick Santelli got under Pres. Obama’s skin even more than we realized. More than a week after the CNBC correspondent criticized the mortgage bailout plan, there was the president’s press secretary today, still taking snide shots at him.
Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs’ contemptuous comment came in response to a question from Chip Reid of CBS suggesting that the administration had retooled the plan in light of the “backlash that a lot of people had, not just on cable, but a lot of people had, fearing that people who behaved badly will be rewarded.”
Before Reid could finish his question, Gibbs jumped in to claim that the changes to the program had not come in response to the criticism. It was then that he took his nasty shot at Santelli . . .

Hahahahaha! A couple dozen viewers may have been accurate while it was live, but boy it sure went viral a short time after that. CNBC is trashing Obama more and more. I bet their ratings are going up by doing so. I know I’ve been watching them more because of it.

There is a troubling course being taken by this administration that is to demean anyone who opposes them. The last time that happened was Clinton but still somewhat subdued to what Nixon and some of his predecessors did. They are trying to clear the playing field. Unless someone has the financial resources to combat them or the audience that only a few like Limbaugh has, these guys can hone in on a target the destroy them. “Opposition? we don’t need no stinking opposition” is the order of the day in DC these days.
There is no hope for compromise with these creatures and hopefully we can send them back to the Chicago Political Cesspool in 4 years. Till then, be careful what you say or you will get a visit from the Brown Shirts.
