NBC's Tom Costello, on duty at the White House today, asked press secretary Robert Gibbs about some comments made by his CNBC colleague Jim Cramer. On the Today show this morning, Cramer called Pres. Obama's budget a "radical agenda," adding, "This is the greatest wealth destruction I've seen by a President."
"I'm not entirely sure what he's pointing to to make some of the statements," said Gibbs. "And you can go back and look at any number of statements he's made in the past about the economy and wonder where some of the back-up for those are too."
When pressed further by Costello, Gibbs said, "If you turn on a certain program it's geared to a very small audience. No offense to my good friends, or friend at CNBC. But the President has to look out for the broader economy and the broader population."
Last month Gibbs had some choice words for Cramer's colleague, Rick Santelli and his criticism of the Obama mortgage plan.

YO! Idiot! Have you seen the DJIA?
Cramer’s been on a tear the last couple of days. He’s been talking like it’s the end of the world. Guess things aren’t as bad as I thought they were.
There seems to be a dark pattern with this WH. Go after all critics by name. Aided by the press.
Whatever complaints I had with GWB, he never did this crap
Gibbs is just as stupid as his boss. What a piece of work!
About time someone called it like it is instead of walking on egg shells with their comments.
Hannity reported last night
3 TRILLION in “wealth” (retirement accounts and other citizen savings) gone in zerO’s first 6 weeks of office
Cramer hasn’t been right on some things but he’s right this time. Guess he won’t be invited over to the WH for Wagyu and oatmeal cookies this Wednesday
Jim Cramer is NOT A CONSERVATIVE.
Washington Bob strikes again. ; )
Bambi scared!
Thin skin, table for one.
No fan of Cramer...but the pettiness of this bankrupt Administration after only 45 days is nothing short of astounding.
I actually think that it is a good sign that the 0bama admin. feels compelled to answer critics in the media. It puts the crtics on an even level with 0bama. Talk about diminishing the prestige of the office.
That Gibbs, the inarticulate reincarnation of Scott McClellan, should try to joust with Cramer or Santelli is just sad. Can’t BO find anyone better for Press Secretary? His pathetic appointments will sink his presidency faster than that of Jimmah Carter, whose approval rating was 14 points higher than BO’s is at this stage of the game.
I don’t know how anyone can sit through a press conference with “Stammering-Stuttering” Gibbs...the clown must go through at least five “uh’s” in every answer he gives...
Bambi if he had half a brain would be poopin in the woods right now but his plan is comming in ahead of schedule
This White House has no qualms about singling out citizens for criticism. If this is what goes on over the air, imagine what goes on behind the scenes.
