The "genius" of Obama
The American Thinker ^ | March 4, 2009 | Clarice Feldman

JOM commenter Soylent Red hits the nail on the head respecting the preposterous flailing about of the President on foreign affairs: Let me see here...

1. Tell the world during your campaign that you want to eliminate missile defense. Make one of your first acts in office reneging on a promise to a NATO ally regarding deployment of missile defense.

2. Then, in negotiations with Russia, try to get them to influence a country (Iran) where they have no real influence. Appeal to the better nature of a pair of Gazprom shareholders to piss off a country (Iran) where Gazprom is currently the 900 lb gorilla for lucrative oil and gasfield development deals.

3. In return for your proposal to Russia? Offer to reduce or curtail missile defense, which, if they simply wait around, you're going to do anyway. Because you repeatedly say so.

While those of us Conservatives here in the US are growing ever more alarmed by the POTUS, we don’t consider the terrible economic and defense havoc he has wrecked on countries around the world.
Our former allies may soon be aligning with our foreign enemies to take action against us. My guess is that the foreign press will be more bold in their investigations of this administration than anyone here in the States will be. They will not be cowed by their government, in fact, they may be encouraged by their governments to write more and more damaging articles about us.
As I told my children the day after the election, the world just got a lot more dangerous.

Some of them are doing it already. There are some who are sucking up to him but many others are questioning his idiotic policies. For one thing, other countries often have superior journalistic standards than the US. For another, when the US sneezes, the world gets a cold. In this case, double pneumonia is more like it.

This is the most important article posted here of late. While we’re focusing, properly, on the economy, we’re forgetting one of the major reasons we didn’t want this guy elected, namely, his foreign policy.

Or lack thereof.

The dems ran saying Bush had ruined our reputation across the world, when in fact Bush had people not liking us but still respecting or fearing us.

Now the world knows Obama is a child who has no idea what to do when faced with those who don’t jump when he makes a demand.

To say that Zero is hopelessly in over his head would be the understatement of the century.

Obama is not a genius. He may, however, be the reincarnation of Adolf Hitler, another (national) socialist.

It would be some sort of karmic justice for Adolph to be reincarnated as a schwartzer. It would have to be a poor one, though, not a president.

And that puts the US in a quandry. We can’t admit we have an idiot at the helm without causing more damage to our country. The only hope is that we can change the house leadership and gain back some senate seats.

I expect that there will be lucrative treaties with sub-saharan Africa countries soon. The loot transfer to be one way.

We need strategic bases in Africa you know....to distribute all that wealth.

"2. Then, in negotiations with Russia, try to get them to influence a country (Iran) where they have no real influence."

I don't know about that. How many times has Russia warned the U.S. to stay off Iran? With a buddy like that in their corner, I'd say Iran would pay attention to what they say. Russia has been supplying them with arms for quite some time. Both are allied with Chavez against the U.S. Finally, Obama is on-board with the international socialist/communist movement, so he'll be out to appease the Russians *intentionally* (not out of ignorance or naivete).

From National Public Radio (NPR):
August 29, 2006
"Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has been visiting countries such as China, Iran and Russia as part of an effort to build a 'strategic alliance' of interests not beholden to the United States. He considers the United States his arch enemy.":

"Chavez pledged that his country would 'stay by Iran at any time and under any condition,' state television reported. Ahmadinejad said he saw in Chavez a kindred spirit." "'We do not have any limitation in cooperation,' Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying. 'Iran and Venezuela are next to each other and supporters of each other. Chavez is a source of a progressive and revolutionary current in South America and his stance in restricting imperialism is tangible.'":

Venezuela's Chavez welcomes Russian warships
Nov 25, 2008
LA GUAIRA, Venezuela – Russian warships arrived off Venezuela's coast Tuesday in a show of strength aimed at the United States as Moscow seeks to expand its influence in Latin America. The deployment is the first of its kind in the Caribbean since the Cold War and was timed to coincide with President Dmitry Medvedev's visit to Caracas — the first ever by a Russian president.

Russia, China flex muscles in joint war games
Reuters: Aug 17, 2007

CHEBARKUL, Russia (Reuters) - Russia and China staged their biggest joint exercises on Friday but denied this show of military prowess could lead to the formation of a counterweight to NATO.

"Today's exercises are another step towards strengthening the relations between our countries, a step towards strengthening international peace and security, and first and foremost, the security of our peoples," Putin said.

Fighter jets swooped overhead, commandos jumped from helicopters on to rooftops and the boom of artillery shells shook the firing range in Russia's Ural mountains as two of the largest armies in the world were put through their paces.

The exercises take place against a backdrop of mounting rivalry between the West, and Russia and China for influence over Central Asia, a strategic region that has huge oil, gas and mineral resources.

Russia's growing assertiveness is also causing jitters in the West. Putin announced at the firing range that Russia was resuming Soviet-era sorties by its strategic bomber aircraft near NATO airspace.
