With the Obama administration calling for curbs on greenhouse gas emissions and the nation in the grip of the most severe economic downturn since 1929, it would seem prudent to re-examine the debate on the causes of global warming before tossing aside entire industries and technologies in favor of untried, and possibly infeasible and unprofitable, "green" technologies.
Wholesale acceptance of human-caused global warming does not, in fact, exist. Indeed, many scientists believe that the highly politicized global warming scare is one of the greatest scams inflicted on the planet. They hold it responsible for enforced political restrictions on legitimate scientific inquiry and dissent and feel that a deliberate attempt has been made to silence prominent atmospheric and climate scientists who offer legitimate criticism.

You’ve probably heard that almost every time Algore is set to make a speech on global warming there is either a cold wave or a snowstorm.

What surprises me, is that this anthropogenic global warming hoax continues to “live.” Even when you look into the history of man-caused global warming it started when someone in the late 1800s declared that his fellow man had too many fires and too much industrialization because more carbon dioxide was being dumped into the atmosphere. When these “alchemists” discovered that carbon dioxide did not cause global warming, but followed periods of global warming, they just continued their quest to prove that mankind was causing global warming by putting too much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere! This Quixote-like work would be amusing but it has become a billion dollar industry!
When informed that water vapor clearly dominates our daily weather and climate, they counter-claim that the “real” cause is a mini-volume of an inefficient or even questionable greenhouse gas (carbon dioxide that lets at least 92% of the heat pass right through). These alchemists also ignore that fact that there are practically zero concentrations of it in the upper atmosphere because it is heavier than air. Facts and science do not matter to the alchemists.
Carbon dioxide is really NOT a global greenhouse gas, and should not be presented as such, especially in the concentrations that exist today. Water vapor and clouds are the primary drivers of climate change, as driven by the Sun, whether it be cosmic rays or variations in solar radiation, or magnetic field changes, or distance from the Earth. Equating carbon dioxide with water vapor is nothing but moral relativism applied to science!
Belief in global warming has become a cult rather than any serious science. Were it not for the suppression of scientific studies that disprove global warming by the media and powerful global warming cultists in government like Hansen it would be wholly debunked. However what is really giving global warming traction is that it is a ideal vehicle for new taxes and more governmental control. To save the planet the liberal elites must control the lifestyles of the great unwashed. Of course they themselves will not sacrifice anything.
As soon as I get dressed, I’m going to go outside of my home, which is well below the Mason-Dixon line, and make “snow angels”.
Not surprising at all, really. Forty years ago journalists were still engaged in research at at least a surface academic level, today they research only sources that research at the same level as themselves..
In other words, journalists today are lazy and rely on the media rumour mill for "information". And as long as the media rumours keep circling, they continue to print them.
They do have one "scientific" source they rely on: Hansen (NASA), and he is a political hack for the radical left, but since he supports their rumour-based theories of Global Warming, they worship him the way they worship Obama.
Add to all the above the ego problem of main-stream journalists. Working their way up the liberal ladder to become an elite at "Time" or the "NY Times", for instance, they develop a HUGE opinion of themselves. At the top, they are told they influence public thought, and that goes straight to their egos. No one that "important" will ever print a retraction, even when the facts are buzzing around them like mockingbirds drawn to honey.
In the deltas of concentrations, that is true. But CO2 really is a greenhouse gas, without it the earths temperature would be -18C instead of +15. That said, the change in GH effectiveness due to changes in CO2 are logarithmic and water vapor (i.e. weather) is the determining factor for climate in the range we are in.
What will they say when all the worlds factories and power plants are idled but of the upcoming industrial collapse and the weather goes on about it’s business of being weather with all it’s fickleness...
However, this data is collected by, and transmitted by, and interpreted by PEOPLE. Therefore, it is my considered scientific opinion, that it is all ANECDOTAL.
Therefore, I cannot let it shake my faith, (or my grant) in Global Warming.
I regard that fact as the surest proof that God has a sense of humor.
I simply asked them if they knew of a place called GREENLAND to which they all resplied YES.
I pointed out that over 1000 years ago it was a lust green forest discovered by the vikings who gave it that name and there were no 'massive rising oceans' back then either.
So if they Earth's climate had changed to radically that near the North Pole was a lush green forest then 1) would'nt the viking already noticed that their lands were being flooded and 2) what does it mean for the Earth cyclical warming & cooling cycles?
We ran out of time but I wanted to tell them that Global COOLING is far much more harmful than Warming esp since crops grows better in warm cycles - you really cant grow crops in deep snow, can you?
