As Mr. Obama seizes ultimate power,the president may call upon,as all tyrants eventually do,the military to subdue the unavoidable public dissent as he shreds the U.S. Constitution. Hitler,knowing honor and fidelity are ingrained in the true warrior,ordered the German soldier to swear an oath of obedience to him before his rule of terror fully began.Trained to obey they obeyed and swore to obey--and keeping to their oath they enabled the horrors that resulted. If Obama ordered such an oath from OUR Armed Forces, would they do it? History proves that good soldiers come with baggage that can be exploited by evil men. What of the American soldier,sailor,airman or marine? We are in interesting times.

Now, in America, changing the oath would, on it's face, be un American not to mention entirely unnecessary) and the signal for dismissal of the ass that tried it.

What you say is true. It’s also instructive to recall that Hitler did away with many of the people who would be inclined to object to an oath of Loyalty to him, progressively, beginning with the Night of the Long Knives.
His Brown Shirts were only an intermediate, stepping-stone to where he really wanted to be. And once he was there, they were expendable. In fact, it was necessary that they be expended.
The US military today is not on the side of Obama.
The oath they swore when they enlisted or received their commission would prevent them from swearing an oath to Obama.
An attempt to force they to swear an oath would backfire because it is not in the American character to consider an oath extracted under duress as binding. But what forcing them to swear would do is make them realize that their original oath makes resisting Obama a sacred duty. That's the part that reads "...against all enemies, foreign and domestic."
What's more, I very seriously doubt that the Democrat Party leadership would want him to try that, because even mentioning the possibility could be considered an impeachable offense and there is already a large and growing section of the country that is waking up to how disastrous Obama really is.
Hell, a growing segment of the Democrat party has started to realize that despite the fun as they are having now, roughly half the country is NOT happy with what Obama is doing and that a backlash against his socialism is inevitable. Trying to ram a loyalty oath to himself down American throats could have drastically unforeseen consequences.

Your assesment requires faith in an America I pray still exists.
When faced with helping evil or facing their own deaths the “oath” was an “out” that somewhat soothed the consciences of usually good men.
No excuse,I agree,but with the “oath” it was easier to rationalize bad behavior—especially for,sometimes unfortunately,well trained soldiers.
It’s like combat,one has to experience it in order to fully know it’s ramifications—otherwise we must rely on platitudes.

I agree with you that it’s highly unlikely and that most people wouldn’t go for it.
However, I don’t know where this “loyalty oath” rumor is coming from. If it’s just an internet rumor stirred up by Obama’s megalomanic propensities, I wouldn’t worry about it. However, if it was something floated by the Obama or the Obamanoids themselves, I would be really concerned. As with FOCA and a host of other things, he floats a dire possibility, appears to back down on it - and then simply goes out and achieves it in some other way that is much less public and much harder to oppose.
Even so, I don’t think there’s any way that the military would take a personal oath to him, any more than they do now, or that the existing oath could be construed in such a way as to make loyalty to Obama superior to loyalty to the Constitution.
Oh ... I don't know.
I would say it would have consequences, and they are forseen, and will be very punative for both the presesnt administration, the socialist / communist Democrat & Rinopublican Parties, the courts, and the fourth estate.
Such rumors are the neccesary use of the true meaning of the 1st Amendment that may curb the behavior of power mad men like Obama and thus prevent the necessary use of the true meaning of the 2nd Amendment.

While I don’t disagree that a personal loyalty oath is a possibility, they can get almost the same thing without being so obvious.
For example, they can ban a broad category of firearms, such as “all semi-automatic” weapons, which is just about what AG Holder is proposing. A large number of people would say that would be un-American and clearly un-Constitutional, and a smaller number would refuse to turn in those banned weapons. So, the oath they administer would be something like: Will you enforce the Gun Control Act of 2009 and the Executive Order on “Domestic Terror” [I’m making it up, for now]?
Those in the military who won’t take the oath will be sent off for special duties, say in Europe. Most would probably take such an oath if it came down to it, just like most would turn over their Remington 1100 duck guns and .22 target pistols rather than face felony charges of domestic terrorism.
Obama is much too smart than to do something like that.
