The Obama Revolution

Paid for by the people.

In the closing weeks of last year's election campaign, we wrote that Democrats had in mind the most sweeping expansion of government in decades.

Liberals clucked, but it turns out even we've been outbid. With yesterday's fiscal 2010 budget proposal, President Obama is attempting not merely to expand the role of the federal government but to put it in such a dominant position that its power can never be rolled back.

Just a redefinition of exceptionalism.

Mr. Obama and his friends believe that everyone is equal...except....

Mr. Obama and his buddies believe that every American has the right of Freedom of Speech...except....

Mr. Obama believes that lying is a bad thing...except....

Mr. Obama believes that lobbyists should not serve in his administration...except....

In order to be my President he first has to prove he is the legitimate President. as required by the Constitution.

Saul Alinsky on "Change"...
From Rules for Radicals, Alinsky outlines his strategy in organizing, writing:

"There's another reason for working inside the system. Dostoevsky said that taking a new step is what people fear most. Any revolutionary change must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people. They must feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and change the future. This acceptance is the reformation essential to any revolution."

"The Communist Party USA views the 2008 elections as a tremendous opportunity to defeat the policies of the right-wing Republicans and to move our country in a new progressive direction.

The record turnout in the Democratic Presidential primary races shows that millions of voters, including millions of new voters, are using this election to bring about real change. We wholeheartedly agree with them."

A Landslide Mandate For Change

Congratulations on an extraordinary history making election!

We can think back with pride to decades of hard work toward our strategic goal of a big enough, broad enough and united enough labor and all-people’s movement that could overcome the ultra-right blockage to all progress. That all people’s movement has come to life, it is dynamic and it has the potential to keep growing.

The election of Barack Obama and a strengthened Congress creates new conditions in our country. There is now the possibility to shift gears and move forward. This new day requires us to further develop our tactics in order to continue to deepen and broaden labor and people’s unity.

There are thousands of experiences that we all have had in these momentous days, some large, some small, all of which express the enormity of change in thinking and readiness for involvement that is underway and that steels us for the battles ahead.

The tears of joy we all shared as crowds gathered to watch the election results here and throughout the world dramatize the new moment we are in.

Never ever say "never". King George the third had similar thoughts about his iron rule over America.

Wait til the pain really starts to come home to average Americans. No power on earth will be able to stop the American people from reclaiming this country from the lunatics and criminals now in power.

“...the end of American exceptionalism?” LOL! Nearly all of our leaders of various institutions have contributed to that since the early 1970s. Obama is only continuing the trend.

The truly frightening part is the fanning of class envy and hatred. They blame the rich, tax the rich, prevent the rich from creating jobs. Then the folks who are without jobs blame the rich, want to tax the rich, and prevent the rich from creating jobs. And so it cycles.

At some point there will be violence against the rich.

This is what the Democrats are doing.

The "rich" is now you and I, and every other American who's always considered themselves to be no more than middle class.

Sorry, but no one's going to successfully make violence on us. Not while we're still in the majority, anyway.

I actually suspect that that scenario is going to play out the other way around.

King George’s rule over America was hardly iron. It was only when his government tried to actually rule the colonies (having been defending them from the French for some decades) that he started a revolt. They had got used to ruling themselves.

The Framers didn't just up and write the Declaration of Independence over a sudden over-reach on King George's part. There was, at that time, "a long train of abuses" which finally broke the proverbial camel's back for the American colonists.

All that aside, I feel that the comparison between Obama's and King George's violations of natural freedoms are correct. Obama will surely bring about a second American Revolution if he continues barreling forward on the tyrannical track he's currently on.
