The Obama administration will seek to reinstate the assault weapons ban that expired in 2004 during the Bush administration, Attorney General Eric Holder said today. "As President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons," Holder told reporters.
Holder said that putting the ban back in place would not only be a positive move by the United States, it would help cut down on the flow of guns going across the border into Mexico, which is struggling with heavy violence among drug cartels along the border.
"I think that will have a positive impact in Mexico, at a minimum." Holder said at a news conference on the arrest of more than 700 people in a drug enforcement crackdown on Mexican drug cartels operating in the U.S.

Realistically, the Obama administration would push to pass a ban on weapons in general.
But that wouldn’t stop Obama’s base.. the thugs who are responsible for most gun crimes.. from keeping their guns.
It’s only the working people who Osama Obama, Biden, and Holder are targeting here.
If the guns are going south, shouldn’t the Democrats be happy? they are leaving this country aren’t they? Dems = bassackwards.

An AWB is only the tip of the iceberg, which will be rammed down all at once. Obama backs HR 45 with insurance requirement, Ammunition Accountability (Microstamping), an Expanded AWB (any semi-auto weapon), and expanding the restrictions on gun ownership to those who have misdemeanors on their record.
Time to start reorganizing the citizen militias. Ohio and Michigan seem to be doing ok via Youtube. I like the michigan militia babes!

Instead of making the guns illegal - why don’t they just make the drugs illegal?
I know these politicians are not that stupid - the firearms "flow" into Mexico is not from the legal gun trade anyway.
AWB is nothing but a direct infringement on the 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution.

Let me get this straight.. the goverment ALLOWS millions of illegals to come and go as if the border is non-existent. Than with funding for a border fence ALREADY approved and signed into law is shelved by Harry Reid. They’re now going to actually propose to outlaw so called assualt weapons and restricit law abiding US citizens rights?!?! All in the supposed fact because weapons are being used in drug wars in Mexico. He you goverment A-Holes.. here’s some suggestions.. PROTECT THE BORDER COMPETELY and as noted by several by several on this board, BUILD THE FENCE!! If things are so bad that you even have to consider banning weapons in the US.. put the NATIONAL GUARD on the border and actually let them do the job w/o tying there hand’s!! WAKE UP!!

I saw a video on there last night and the militia guy was giving codes and all the people that responded seemed to know what he meant. Looked to me like they were organizing and he mentioned front lines and all this other stuff. I didn’t ask any questions, frankly didn’t want to be associated, not sure what they were up to. But it was eerie to be sure.
