WASHINGTON (AP) California Rep. Hilda Solis won confirmation Tuesday as President Barack Obama's labor secretary, giving the agency a decidedly pro-worker tilt after years of business-friendly leadership under the Bush administration.
The 80-17 vote ended more than a month of delays prompted by GOP concerns over Solis' work for a pro-union organization, and later, revelations about her husband's unpaid taxes.
But Democrats said Solis had put to rest any questions and called her a powerful advocate for working families.

AP is scum. As if pro-union and pro-worker are the same. We have seen what the unions have done to Detroit. I guess it’s time to destroy businesses and workers’ livelihood to expanding what happened to Detroit to the entire nation.
Well Obama has collected over $250K in unpaid taxes so far, and that’s just from Cabinet nominees

Business friendly is pro-worker, moron AP writer. Businesses are made up of workers.
Can you say “Employee Free Choice Act?” Now a given...
That’s going to be a nightmare for small business. Many wont survive.
Yup. We’re going to continue the RINO-Rat Gov cycle if we vote in Brownback.
>Can you say Employee Free Choice Act? Now a given...
Agreed, Card Check is a done deal.
And if you’re running a business NOW is the time to oh-so-carefully let it be known to your workers that unionization kills the company immediately... as in the doors will be closed the afternoon you get their “cards”. Because after EFCA passes, even subtle anti-union hints will open you up for a lawsuit.
