OAKLAND -- A 23-year-old visitor from the East Coast had just gotten money from an ATM when he told his friend on a cell phone that he had a bad feeling about two men approaching him at the Fruitvale BART Station in Oakland.
His worst fears were realized when one suspect, Victor Veliz, 18, held a folding knife with a 5-inch blade to his neck and the other, Christopher Gonzalez, 18, threatened to shoot him Thursday night, authorities said.

QUICK! PROSECUTE THIS VICTIM FOR MURDER!!! < /Britain>
Looks like your son paid in full, Dad
Looks to me as if someone already has.
But the dead perp was “a good boy”, hard working and all that crap.
Obama’s fault.
You want someone to pay for it, Dad? How about you for raising a miscreant douchebag for a child?
Yes, the MSM template calls for the line about how the dead man was “turning his life around”. Look for it in the Monday Comical.
Just the typical Latino gang in CA robbing and pilaging...nothing to see here.
The dead thug’s father offers the typical reaction:
“My son is dead. I want somebody to pay for this.”
He seems to not understand that his son already paid for this, he bought the ticket when he put a knife to the victim’s throat.
Arrgghh.
Javier Gonzalez sobbed at the loss of his son, who worked with him in his roofing business and at Oakland Raiders games. This guy is lucky he apparently cannot be charged with a crime. He's the one who should pay."I'm angry at both of them," he said of the robbery victim and Veliz. "They took my son away from me. He was a hard-working kid."
He added, "My son is dead. I want somebody to pay for this."

Until he said that, I felt sorry for the Dad. His son was being a punk and got exactly what he deserved. If he was my son I would be absolutely heartbroken and wondering where I had failed. I sure would not be mad at the innocent victim who did exactly what he had a right to do.
I hate to hear of a death so young, but I love stories where the thug gets it in the end. Don't you just love the other guy getting a murder charge for the death of his friend. That's justice if the father thinks about it.
Only in America can the perps family expect justice in their behalf.
Looks like your son paid in full, Dad
Still charge Veliz with 2nd degree murder.
Hey, it’s all the white man’s fault, all those years of oppression have just made the minorities crazy. If we just give them all our money, they will be instantly rehabilitated.
Sounds like the victim had an extremely fast defensive reflex.
He had the adrenalin shakes afterward, but it saved his life.
No, there’s still a balance due: THE OTHER PERP who will almost certainly hook up with another criminal pal and do this again.
Kid just died and already looking for a handout.
I agree with you. If I had done that I would have raced my father to the police in hopes they would get me before he did. That’s probably why I never did any such thing. Dad was on the Job.
Live by the knife, die by the knife.
Oh, diversity!
Diane Feinstein and Zer0 tell me there is no difference in cultures, just a need for more tolerance and cash to fund years of discrimination.
How is the Mexican space program coming?
These are what we import, are you surprised?
Thanks Mr. Kennedy.
Solis to the rescue!
OK, pops, how about you in a civil suit filed by your son's intended victim? Sounds like you have assets. Works for me.

Oh, sorry, you aren't talking, are you?
OK, new stimulus proposal: funding for signs posted outside these neighborhoods warning the general public that they are 'now leaving the American sector' and that travel is at your own risk?
Semper Fi, eventhough I was a Leg in Army.
Would somebody please look into this father’s citizenship status. It would be fitting to find out if this poor excuse for a parent is here illegally and ship him out.
Hats off to the victim...what a stud! One dead perp and another cretin off the streets. Bravo!
“He was a hard-working kid.”
Instead of the 40 hours required by the gang that he belonged to he put in 60 hours a week.
This is unreal:
Javier Gonzalez sobbed at the loss of his son, who worked with him in his roofing business and at Oakland Raiders games.
“I’m angry at both of them,” he said of the robbery victim and Veliz. “They took my son away from me. He was a hard-working kid.”
He added, “My son is dead. I want somebody to pay for this.”
This guy is lucky he apparently cannot be charged with a crime. He’s the one who should pay.

The Oakland thugs are apparently in an all-out war with BART and the people who are trying to run it on a daily basis.
The thugs make life miserable for riders of mass transit- as the riders are trapped inside the train, and cannot get much help.
The punks giving the officers a hard time a couple of months ago have managed to get one Bart officer terminated, and another on leave, over the shooting of one of the punks. Drunk- possible on drugs- combative- pieces of crap... They are demanding that the head of BART security/police be fired or quit.
I would not ride any mass transit anywhere near Oakland, much less in the Bay Area.
The criminals in San Fran are not just the politicions.
Monday the story will be, Martial Arts Expert takes knife from youngster kills fathers only son.
Don’t get me started! The punk shot by a cop has had a lot of sympathizers here!
Yep.
“He added, “My son is dead. I want somebody to pay for this.””
I suggest Dad kick his own arse.
I wouldn't ride mass transit in Atlanta, and I can carry a gun there. I used to do it while in grad school, and I can't even count the number of teeenage punks I had to stare down.
The Dad owes every BART rider an apology fro his son’s bad behavior, and he should be forced by public hue and cry to formally beg the apology of the man his son tried to murder, the innocent victim his son did viciously attack so as to rob and to whom his son did injure.
Ping.
