WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - The White House fired back directly Friday at a cable-news commentator whose rant against President Barack Obama's mortgage plan has become one of the hottest videos on the Internet, getting him an invitation to the White House for a cup of decaf and a chat about what the plan really entails.

Oh, so much irony in what this moron said. I wonder if it was on his fact sheet?
They can’t allow a citizen to have face time in the press.
It makes Zero (the Chavez twin) very jealous.
I hope Santelli’s taxes and private life are in order, because he’s about to get Joe the Plumbered.
FURG!
Santelli should just snub Obama. He should tell him to act more like a freedom-loving American and he’ll gladly come to the White House.
ROFL!
And what the hell were these FOOLS thinking when they took out ARMs in a market that's balanced for fixed rates? Did they think that rates would really go down any further than the record lows we've seen the past five years? Puh-leeze.
Whitehouse spokesman Robert Gibbs assuredly doesn't have a clue what he's talking about on any given subject, at any given time.
Robert Gibbs is a tool. Period. Hey Robert, don’t you have anything more “pertinent” to say?
I wonder if this was a dig a CNBC or just an embarrassing fact?
I wonder if he wants EVERYONE who feels the same way (abused and looted) for The Messiah’s handout program to irresponsible losers to make the trip to Washington, D.C., AT THE SAME TIME????
This is, without a doubt, the best correction of the week. Okay, the month. Aw, hell, I'll say it: Best. Correction. Ever. From the Huffington Post:
Huffpo had posted what appeared to be a video of Fox News's John Gibson jokingly referring to Attorney General Eric Holder as a monkey with a "bright blue scrotum." That last bit is a reference to an unrelated news story about a Debrazza monkey that escaped from a zoo in Seattle.
Cable News to the White House...Never attack anyone who sells ink by the barrels.
“Gibbs argued that the plan to help some 7 million to 9 million homeowners refinance or modify their mortgages was not designed to help those who had acted irresponsibly.”
Well, it sure isn’t designed to help those who acted responsibly!
A message to Mr. Gibbs. There are actual real financial analysts who are reading the stimulus package, the bankers bailout, the car makers bailout, and this mortgage bailout deal...and frankly Mr. Gibbs...they aren’t giving you passing grades.
People who stayed within their means, paid a 30 percent down payment and obeyed their dad’s advice to stay within their limits...now find themselves punished for doing the right thing, and the idiot neighbors who bought a $350k house which was a $100k more than they could afford...are the ones rewarded. Frankly, this isn’t the American way. We don’t pay for idiots and consider it the norm.
If he goes to the Washington Santelli will probably be taken on a tour of Ft. Marcy and Rock Creek parks.
