Holder: “A nation of cowards”

Attorney General Eric Holder described the United States Wednesday as a nation of cowards on matters of race, saying most Americans avoid discussing awkward racial issues.

In a speech to Justice Department employees marking Black History Month, Holder said the workplace is largely integrated but Americans still self-segregate on the weekends and in their private lives.

“Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and I believe continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards,” said Holder, nation’s first black attorney general.

Race issues continue to be a topic of political discussion, Holder said, but “we, as average Americans, simply do not talk enough with each other about race.”

Funny. When I think of racial cowards, I think of Barack Obama at Jeremiah Wright’s church, sitting there week after week, year after year, saying nothing about the separatist demagoguery echoing from the pulpit to the pews.

When I think of racial cowards, I think of all the navel-gazers who fret about poisonous racial dialogue, but say nothing about “My President Is Black” bigotry.

When I think of racial cowards, I think of the people cowed by mau-mau-er Al Sharpton — now attacking the NYPost over a cartoon lampooning that crazy dead chimp.

When I think of racial cowards, I think of the folks who enable p.c. thugs to cry racism over “That One” and “Thug Thizzle” and “tricked out.”

Holder doesn’t want an honest dialogue about race. In the Age of Obama, “talking enough with each other about race” means the rest of us shutting up while being subjected to lectures about our insensitivity and insufficient integration on the weekends.

Last I checked, we still had freedom of association in this country. Is this pr!ck going to start climbing into my private life and telling me I have to hang out in the 'hood now? He can go to hell.

Eric Holder should never have been approved. At best he is incredibly stupid. And then there is the Mark Rich story.

Note to Eric (CC to B.O.)

I am sick to death of the race merchants who will not let it die. No one who can think defines himself or herself as a member of an ethnic group. No one cares anymore. Get over it. Its way past over. Your ancestors were slaves. Everybody's ancestors were slaves at some point. Mine were bought and sold with the land their ancestors had owned for millennia.

Get over it, Eric. People don't talk about it because there is nothing to say. The '60's are over. Jesse is still a jackass and Sharpton is still a con artist but the rest of us moved on.

Forget socialism....these idiots border on communism: A system of government in which the state plans and controls the economy and a single, often authoritarian party holds power, claiming to make progress toward a higher social order in which all goods are equally shared by the people.

Key word here is "private"! As far as I know, that means private and one should be able to associate with whomever. Racist comment by the new AG!

So we’re cowardly about race, and always have been?

What about the civil rights movement? What about the courage shown by people of all races to confront segregation and discrimination?

What about members of Congress at the time, including REPUBLICANS such as Senator Everett Dirksen, who helped pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964???????

I think that as time goes on, more people will realize the election of Obama symbolizes the fact that race is not holding people back from achieving whatever they want to achieve in this country. We’ve now had a black president, many black cabinet members, black Secretaries of State, black senators, black governors, black mayors, black congressmen, black Supreme Court justices, etc.

I know that many black people are grappling with poverty, however, is race really their major handicap?

Ok, so if we are cowards, can I stop being looked at if I mention someone is black as a description? I would mention if they were blonde, doesn’t mean I don’t like blonde people. Or that “redheaded guy”, it’s just gotten ridiculous.

When do I get reparations for the disproportionate amount of crime committed by blacks? There I wasn't too much of a coward to ask. Is that what he had in mind?

My sentiments exactly. the sad truth of the matter is that the most vile racist pigs I have ever come across are mostly mexicans and blacks. at least here in Los Angeles. It is those two poor minorities that seem to have all the race problems. I don’t see or hear white males,asian,russian,....(white males are statistically a minority wether you like it or not) ever complain about race, only blacks and mexicans(mostly ILLEGAL ALIENS). So get over it and take a long look in a mirror if you want to see the Racist Mr Holder.

A Hyphenated-American is by Definition a Racist
