Is the Main Stream Media waking up?
NBC Today Show | February 18, 2009 | From The Deer Stand

Posted on 02/18/2009 5:38:37 AM PST by From The Deer Stand

Lisa Myers of NBC News did a piece on the Today Show that actually questioned the worthiness of President Obama's and the Democrats' stimulous plan. The report questioned job creation and noted the various projects that won't do much to stimulate anything, including the Harry Reid boondoggle rail system from Disneyland to Las Vegas. Also mentioned were other projects targeted at districts represented by those who voted in favor of the plan. Maybe the media, like the public, is waking up to the fact that this package is nothing more than a huge taxpayer-burdening bunch of pork.

"Is the Main Stream Media waking up?"

If the MSM is not screaming about the "stimulus" bill wiping out the 1996 welfare reforms, then they are still asleep.

No they’re not waking up. They start reporting on it AFTER the bill is passed so they can say “See...we DID report on what was in the stimulus. That way they can have their cake and still pretend to be unbiased.

They always get real concerned and serious when it’s too late for them to do anything about it.

Lisa will be admonished, disciplined and benched for her heresy.

Nope. It will take at least six months before the public backlash against the Obamacrats forces the MSM to change its tone.

I always see stories of this type as “neener-neener”, salt in the wound, after-the-fact, kicks to the groin, intended to demoralize the audience.

They beg the question: Why couldn't you have done these stories last week?

No. Rush constantly warns against this. They KNOW this stuff is socialist crap, but their Messiah is behind it, so they won’t be too tough. It will eventually be laid at the feet of Republicans.

I am afraid they ARE awake and consciously on the side of the enemy.

Every once in a while Lisa Meyers suffers from an involuntary twitch where she actually strings together a few facts and catches a glimpse of reality. Then she just seems to roll over & go back to sleep.

.....I wouldn’t say they were “waking up” exactly....but....I think they’re scared of going broke...look for more out-of-character viewpoints like this....they’re trying to survive.

For the next few months, I expect the DBM will report ANY rosy scenario for the economy they can find. The success of The One and Democrats at large is riding on this stimulus being successful.

The irony is that when the DBM and The One start proclaiming that the economy is on the road to recovery, people will actually start to regain confidence and return to the market and to more consumer spending so it will be a self fulfilling prophecy. And the myth of The One will continue.

They better wake up because they are all headed for the unemployment line. They are not immune to this crisis. Media stocks will be penny stocks soon. They need to cut the bias crap and do their jobs. There are tens of millions of us out here who did NOT vote for Obama. If they don’t want our viewership and readership for the sake of playing politics, well — down they will go.

I know NPR is an extreme case, but they are certainly still chugging the kool-aid.

Back in December, NPR visited Oklahoma (very red state) and they interviewed people on the street. They found about 6 people. All of them had voted for McCain. And all of them -- 100%! -- were thrilled by Barack Obama. Thought he was presidential, thought he was making a smooth transition, they were really optimistic that things would be OK because Obama was in charge.

Do you beleive that?

This morning, NPR interviewed two guys in Colorado. Long-time Republicans, small business owners, solid responsible individuals. One of them had voted for McCain and the other Republican had voted for Obama. Both were pretty pleased with the Stimulus Bill. Thought Obama shouldn't be criticized, doing a fine job, we'll just wait and see if how it all works out, blah, blah, blah.

Do you believe that?

Much of the media will lie and protect this guy until the cows come home.

The MSM invested heavily in getting Obama elected. They may occassionly try to act like they are doing their jobs but they are NEVER going to do anything to jeopordise Obama’s Presidency.

Change their tune?!? It will not happen. In the first place, they do not know another tune. Secondly, the elitist mindset and what the ministers of progranda taught them in Ivy League Journalism schools will dictate that they try even harder to “educate” us knuckle dragging mouth breathers in flyover country, still bitterly clinging to our guns, religion, and private property...

And whern that does’nt work, they get Bill Maher on us and blame some fictitious extra or missing chromosones.

Why do you think it is going to take six months. I give it six weeks because jobs will still be disappearing at the rate of 500,000 a month, state governments will not get their share for at least three weeks which means in California and Kansas state workers are being sent home or not paid, and the stock market will continue dropping to about 6,000. I see very dismal times for at least that long and the public is not that patient anymore.

Even if this is the case, it’s a little like the captain of the Titanic “waking up” after 10 minutes of treading water in the Atlantic watching his ship going down.
