Axelrod Insists White House Controls Census

White House political advisor David Axelrod says the Obama administration’s plan to take over the U.S. Census Bureau by placing it directly under the control of top White House officials will, nonetheless, remain in the hands of experts to run the program

Axelrod, appearing on "FOX News Sunday With Chris Wallace," said despite the move by the West Wing to manage the bureau, the census would continue to “be in the charge of the professionals who conduct it."

Republicans, who oppose the move on the grounds that it will politicize the upcoming 2010 census, say supervision of it by the Democratic Party will taint the results and skew new congressional representative district lines for the 2012 elections.

Earlier this week, U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., weighed in on the move by telling Newsmax TV she and her fellow Commerce Dept. committee members are "terribly disappointed and very concerned" that Obama wants to end the traditional autonomy of the bureau by placing it directly under the control of the White House.

“This is a very dangerous move,” Blackburn said about politics once again entering back into the process.

The GOP better wake up.

It is time for the GOP to start unleashing. The honeymoon is over now that he got his trillion dollar pork package. That’s his parting gift. Now it is time to destroy. It starts with this. The White House is not the place to determine House districts, obviously. They may have an interest in the outcome.

If the census is going to still be conducted by
“experts”, then Axelrod better give a darn good reason for why Obama wants the census under his control. We all know the answer, but I would really like these guys to try to justify this. Demand answers, Republicans.

Love the term and have adopted it. Barrymandering will be a lot easier when you can manipulate the source data. Red States, Be Gone! I guess that has already happened, this just seals it.

How about a list of names of Republicans with the gonads and spine to lead a nationwide opposition? I pray there are some. If not, we’re through.

Too late. We are now under a dictatorship with King Obama and the RAT party in total control. Scream and yell, but they have been planning this for many years and only one way back is Revolution.

Geez - those are fightin' words. They need to be more than disappointed and need to get a better communications plan before its too late.

Yep, Fascism gets it roots from the uninterested people.

Rigging the census is the same as ACORN rigging the elections. With this comes the electoral college, redistricting. You remove the appearance of fairness, people loose confidence in the elections.

Wow, they’re not even going to use a sham like Thuggo Chavez in Venezuela.

They’re just going to permanently gerrymander their own majority.

How clever.

Imagine if the Republicans tried this when they were in power. But the DemonRATs can do this stuff all day and nobody calls them on it, except talk radio and the conservative blogs.

And those will be under DemonRAT control in the near future.

These thugs are playing for keeps.
