More Gun Control Introduced in Congress

The liberals are at it again. In a new bill introduced the first day of present session of Congress, and with zero coverage from the MSM, H.R. 45 (Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009) targets all gun owners in the U.S.A.

This nefarious bill seeks to strip us all of our Constitutional Rights to possess and bear firearms of any distinction. It requires, within the first two years, that all new guns be registered. The bill goes retroactive after two years. Meaning that two years after the passage of the bill, ALL FIREARMS in a citizen’s possession must be registered, not just those purchased after the bill passes, and this apparently applies to antique firearms as well.

Every five years the firearm owner must go through a complete renewal process for each weapon owned. Failure to comply carries stiff penalties including confiscation of the firearms and jail time (penalties as high as ten years imprisonment in some cases). The bill also authorizes government searches without warrant, the creation of a federal bureaucracy to monitor firearm possession, etc.

Couldn't help but notice he has exactly ZERO co-sponsors on this bill.
Yep.

The purpose of this bill isn't to pass, it's to get gun-owners so concerned that when the AWB ban bill comes up, they say to themselves, "well, it's not as bad as Bobby Rush's bill was", and not fight so hard.

I just renewed my NRA membership for another three years. My congressman is a Democrat, but is solidly pro 2A. I’ve written to all my representatives and let them know that I feel very strongly about this issue and will not vote for them if they support gun control.

Hey... Like former President Bush said, “It’s just a goddamn piece of paper...” You think Barry the Socialist is going to give a flip? He controls the military and the police. You think an old scrap of hemp parchment is going to slow him down one iota?

Is this for real or is it from The Onion or Scrappleface?

The truth is more complex. Bobby Rush is secretly on the payroll of the NRA as a fund raiser...

The criminals of the world, of course, would comply with this legislation.

As long as they don't make the current generation register their iPods, Blackberrys, and cell phones they will easily get away with this outrage.

It’s for real, and it’s been posted to FR about 100 times so far. Do a search.

It’s also going nowhere. One ultra-leftist sponsor. No cosponsors. Sent to committee to die.

No need to get in a lather about this - junk like this came up even in the Bush years when the Republicans controlled the House and Senate. This will suffer the same fate they did.

Some of our legal beagles should know if GodGuv can make the exercise of a Constitutionally protected God-given right conditional by registering and licensure, especially in light of the recent SCOTUS decision.

What say you, Congressman?

One thing that I never let pass.

“It can’t happen, see, it won’t pass.”

I always tell whoever says this that its passage or non-passage is of little concern to me.

What concerns me is that there are people who WANT this to happen, and they are in positions of power (and that the person I’m talking to supports the part of that person).

It’s getting to be time for us to arrange a “pitchfork and torch” party on the national mall.

We should bring along a rail... or 536 rails to be exact, as well as a tub of pitch and a big bag of feathers.

hopefully to die a quiet death

I don't want things like these to "go quietly". I want our reps to loudly talk about them on the floor of the Congress.

The 401k confiscation bill is another one that they should be talking about.

Read “the Turner Diaries”.

This is straight out of that book.

The gun sweeps, in the fictional account, “avoided black neighborhoods”.

Any idiot can introduce legislation - and they generally do - this guy is a case in point.

But it doesn't means it will get adopted.

HOWEVER, writing a check to the NRA or to a local candidate or incumbent who is pro-gun is a very good idea at this point.

As long as the Obamanation is in office, our rights and our Constitution and our national sovereignty are in jeopardy.

Read “the Turner Diaries”.

Written in 1978, so applicable for today and the next 4 years.
