More Gun Control Introduced in Congress
American Thinker ^ | 02-06-2009 | Gregory Young

The liberals are at it again. In a new bill introduced the first day of present session of Congress, and with zero coverage from the MSM, H.R. 45 (Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009) targets all gun owners in the U.S.A.

This nefarious bill seeks to strip us all of our Constitutional Rights to possess and bear firearms of any distinction. It requires, within the first two years, that all new guns be registered. The bill goes retroactive after two years. Meaning that two years after the passage of the bill, ALL FIREARMS in a citizen’s possession must be registered, not just those purchased after the bill passes, and this apparently applies to antique firearms as well.

Every five years the firearm owner must go through a complete renewal process for each weapon owned. Failure to comply carries stiff penalties including confiscation of the firearms and jail time (penalties as high as ten years imprisonment in some cases). The bill also authorizes government searches without warrant, the creation of a federal bureaucracy to monitor firearm possession, etc.

Once a commie thug, always a commie thug. One of Obama’s Chicago boys. Most have been one helluva “hood” with Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn and Rush being neighbors.

I’m thinking that Bobby Rush is one dumb SOB. This law is going to disproportionately affect inner city negroes. Law abiding white people will just pay the fees for now and will barely notice the law. I think we all know how this law will affect the black community though.

Might as well just hand them over.

The way I see it the fighting American is fading away with the WWII generation.

The following generations seem to be going along fine with whatever the gov’t goons tell them to do.

Today’s American rejects reason outright. They don’t want to be bothered with the facts or reality.

They’re being stripped of their freedom right now—one would have predicted someone would put up a fight.

It’s pretty amazing how easily it is falling apart.

I don’t recognize this country anymore.

This is the first step in the disarming of America for a Communist takeover.

The Founding Fathers left us the Second Amendment. Let's see if we have the courage and good sense to use it.

Don't take gossip for fact. Go to the bill and read it directly. It has no cosponsor and has been sent to committee-House Judiciary Committee- hopefully to die a quiet death.

One would think Heller v. DC hadn't been written. One would think the Second Amendment hadn't been written.

This is the most direct and pointed attack on American freedom since... what, yesterday? This is going to be a long four years of Jimmy Carter II.

Bobby Rush (I hate that he shares a name with El Rushbo) is a former Black Panther.

Maybe he’ll go mau-mau on us and start calling everybody racists while making threats.

I recall 1968. It wasn’t a pretty sight.

Doesn't matter, all bills like this MUST be challenged when submitted, people MUST call their Reps and voice their displeasure that legislation like this is even drafted!

Either WE lead or we just react afterwards, which in most cases will be to late!

This is a "stalking horse" bill: it's deliberately over-the-top and obviously unconstitutional and sponsored by a guy with an IQ below room temperature.

Once the furor dies down, the real legislation will show up that "only restricts dangerous assault rifles" or "just calls for mandatory trigger locks" or "limits unmarked ammunition" and the less-than-brilliant among us will breathe a sigh of relief and say "at least they didn't go after my .38 special".

Not yet, anyway - that's next.

Resist.

This law is going to disproportionately affect inner city negroes.

Even if the law is enacted with warrantless searches (that will make the DU'ers eyes water - NOT, because it's for a good cause), the cops don't have the stones to do a house to house search in the inner city, even in SWAT team strength. You'd have to bring the National Guard, and even they'd struggle against the resistance. Not gonna happen.

Article I. Section 9. No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed.

What part of that don’t you understand?

As for registration, just try.

Well, as bad as this bill is, it isn’t a ban on all weapons. Of course we all know that that would be the next step if they had their way. So, I do think this will hit inner city negroes much much harder than the rural good old boys club members to whom this bill is probably directed at.
