Big Win For Coleman
PewerLine ^ | 2/3/08 | John Hinderaker

Posted on 02/03/2009 1:24:30 PM PST by Buck W.

This report (link), hot off the press, signifies a victory for Norm Coleman in the election contest with Al Franken: the court hearing the contest has ruled that "all absentee ballots that complied with state law should be counted, along with those where errors occurred through no fault of the voter." Franken has been trying to prevent a number of ballots that complied with state law from being counted.

” As soon as he pulled ahead, he demanded that no further absentees be counted and tried to get himself sworn in immediately.”

Right out of the Gore playbook!
Now that is one thing that Gore actually DID invent - but he doesn’t seem too eager about taking credit for it.

If Franken wins it will be because of Sorass money and/or lefty judges who don't allow all ballots to be counted whether they are for Coleman or Franken.

Agree with the first, but doubt the second. Minnesota's District Court judges do not have a reputation for activism, and with their ruling concerning these absentee ballots, the non-partisan streak seems to be continuing. We'll see how they deal with the overvotes and "missing" ballot issues (as well as see the actual evidence; amazing how much misinformation there is about this situation).

Rossi lost the election contest for a couple of reasons. The Davis Wright Tremaine (DWT) lawfirm represented the GOP, the same firm that hired former Gov. Locke just aftrer he left office. For some reason, DWT neglected to allege vote fraud in its initial complaint when everyone with half a brain knew there was voter fraud. Think that was simply an oversight? Rossi also had proof of Gregoire’s racketering, but refused to use the information because it would have also implicated several of his friends. IOW, he decided to risk losing the election in order to protect his friends.

Thanks for the update on WA state. I guess the reasons you mentioned are yet another example of why the Republican Party is known as the Stupid Party. Unfortunately the Evil Party always wins out over the Stupid Party. I shake my head in bewilderment at the stupidity & incompetence & complicity of DWT for neglecting to cite vote fraud, and apparently that doesn't say much about Dino Rossi either. Unfrikkinbelievealbe!!!

Time will tell in Minnesota, but I give Norm Coleman no better than 10% chance that he will find enough votes to overcome the bogus 225 vote lead that Frankenstein has. For every vote that Coleman finds, you can bet the dimwits will match that plus more.

you people can't be pleased....you complain about everything yet you can't see that any Republican even if he only votes conservative once in a while is far, far better than any RAt who will vote loyally, and continuously for his rat minions....

Dodd still in office....Rangel still in office.....and the fat man walked out of the National Archives with secret papers STUFFED down his pants and he still walks free....

there are no consequences for Rats....they make sure of it....

KEEP FIGHTING, NORM COLEMAN!

Rossi took it as far a it could go....he got no help from the Pub State Attorney general and no help from the Pub secretary of State and no help from a Pub appointed US Attorney....and I think that the final straw was no help from the Pub appointed judge....

at least Rossi fought....that dufus Slade Gorton laid down like a baby even when those suspicious "provisional" votes gave Cantwell the victory two weeks after election night....

The U.S. Attorney at the time, John McKay, was in bed with the liberals in the State of Washington.

“Dang, I clicked on this thread hoping that Gary Coleman was declared the winner of the election for Governor here in California.”

Don’t you remember? He ran a few years ago and did his best, but still came up short. ;-)

Conservatives need some encouraging news.

A loss for Franken could very well make me toss back a pint in celebration.

From what I can tell, the dems want their 60, but they don’t want the clown.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I don't think the Dems can get rid of their clown: Kennedy has been there too long. They made their other clown VP to get rid of him. Of course there are other clowns: Daschel, Reid, Shumer, Clinton, Snowe (oh wait, she's OUR Clown!)

"Aside from Rep. John Kline,..."
I liked him (and voted for him.)
Must say I was disappointed with his vote in favor of the bailout, however.
I guess it's too much to hope for an actual conservative in this state...

"It isn't clear to me whether the ruling is that the 4,800 ballots in question actually are valid and will be counted..."

Where do we go to get an update from someone for whom it IS clear?

I just about blew a gasket today. Try Googling "former senator Norm Coleman".

Technically this is correct. The term to which he was elected has expired, and no one has been elected to take his place. He was a Senator, and he is not (yet) a Senator, so he is 'former Senator Norm Coleman'.
