The US GDP grew later in the 30’s and Smoot-Hawley was still in effect....by 1937 our GDP was back over 1929 levels (pre-Smoot). Few Free Traders will mention this...because it blows away their Smoot-Myth

There were other reasons for the US economy tanking, and later regressing in the 1930’s....mainly due to increased taxes

Unless the EPA rules changed when I wasn’t looking, ferritic nitrocarburization (Tenifer/Melonite) is actually illegal to perform in the United States. If that’s changed, then good. One less thing to have to ship out of country.

My point is this - there is so much that can no longer be legally performed in the United States due to idiot regulation and legislation, some of us who make things and have to compete with others *have* to ship stuff overseas for processing because we *can’t* get it done here, for any price!

I’ve posted a few comments about ways I thought the GOP could win elections in the future but I can’t support a party that says Buy American is wrong.

Reading these posts by the Free Traitors in this thread and others promoting the destruction of this once great country makes me sick.

Yeah, it seems to be on the rise. On a thread today I specifically said we need to push a conservative agenda on people who are definitely not conservatives, and see if they can be swayed. I don't think a single person who responded understood that--"RINO" "pervert" etc.

Yep. ...can't sell enough unneeded imports, when your own nearby neighbors have no longer have purchasing power. And yes, changing the regime is difficult and requires some real work, not to mention having to deal with one's own American neighbors at work. ...the nerve of those peons!

Both parties were evil before and during the Depression, too. It took the World War to get the various crooked balkanizers (most whose creepy Euro-families had only come to America in the few previous decades) to stop their creepy ethnic pastimes and work with other Americans for a short while.
