House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Ca.) will bring her “Kill the Children” economic stimulus plan to the floor of the House this week for a likely vote on Thursday. On ABC’s “This Week” last Sunday, Pelosi justified the inclusion of expanded federal funding for abortions as part of an economic stimulus plan on the grounds that reducing the number of children being born would help stimulate the economy.
Pelosi’s pronouncement rightly raised the ire of Congressman John Carter (R-Tx.), secretary of the House Republican Conference. “To attempt to stimulate the economy by killing babies is an atrocity,” Carter said, speaking for the millions of Americans who are shocked and outraged over this further slide into degeneracy on display by Democrat leadership. “To justify the killing of an unborn child for monetary gain is a monstrosity,” Carter added.
In stark contrast, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Oh.) spoke with Sean Hannity on his radio program Monday, appearing to throw in the towel on leading any real opposition to the trillion-dollar spending bill. Boehner told Hannity’s audience of millions, “We will likely have an alternative amendment,” but he raised doubts as to whether or not the amendment would pass. Likely?
Boehner also concluded that the President had been friendly to Republican proposals for the addition of tax cuts to the gargantuan spending bill, calling on Obama to intervene in attempting to improve the bill as it makes its way to the Senate. Boehner said of his Democrat colleagues, “It won’t be long before the liberals will try to impose their will on this President, and people will see just how liberal this Congress really is.”
With all due respect, Leader Boehner, Barack Obama is a far-left liberal graduate of the Saul Alinsky school of socialism. The problem will not be Pelosi dragging Obama to the left, but well-meaning Republicans compromising their principles to accomplish nothing more than giving these radicals political cover. The over 54 million people who did not vote for Obama do not expect you to magically woo goose-stepping Democrats in Congress into your vote totals. What conservatives are looking for is a leader who will rescind his Obama gag order and take a stand for the principles and ideals that have made this country the greatest ever created.
The full Senate voted 60-34 Monday night in favor of the confirmation of Timothy Geithner as President Barack Obama’s new Treasury Secretary. The vote indicates not nearly enough angst over Geithner’s failure to pay tens of thousands of dollars in federal taxes not once but four years in a row. In his role as Secretary, Geithner will not only oversee the IRS but have sole discretionary power to disburse trillions of federal taxpayer dollars.
Joining the ranks of those who voted against the confirmation of this nominee were Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA) and Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME). Votes in favor of the $34,000 tax cheat having IRS oversight came from Richard Shelby (R-AL) and John Cornyn (R-TX).

But stopping the flow of illegals won't?...
Yet,another Profile of Courage vote from Lindsey Graham.
I’m betting Pampers and Gerber disagree with Pelosi. She’s not just intent on increasing the slaughter of innocents, she apparently wants to kibosh a significant sector of the economy.
I just read your post and decided to call Graham’s office and express my opinion. I left a message and my number but I am not holding my breath.
You got to love Pelosi. If they didnt have this nutcase Nancy more republicans would vote for package
Screw you, Shelby. You caved.
‘Sonder’treatment for specific designated groups in society based on income (the poor), skincolor (abortions within the African-American circles) and religion (Judeo/Christians clinging to their bible and guns). Sounds very familiar. We are defenitely heading somewhere.
I just sent this to my idiot Senator re: Geithner. I’m sure the gestapo will be knocking on my door any minute now.
*********************************************************
Dear Senator Webb-
I’m sure I won’t get a response from you but I must say that I am appalled and disgusted by your vote for Mr. Geithner. The man is a tax cheat - a deliberate, premeditated tax cheat. And now, because of your vote, he is heading the IRS.
What happened to right and wrong? What happened to not rewarding bad (not to mention illegal) behavior? Is your desire to stay in the good graces of the President and the congressional leadership more important to you than your own moral compass and knowledge of right and wrong?
I am disappointed and disgusted. If you can’t stand up for the right thing now, then I truly fear for our country. All it takes for evil to prevail, is for good men to sit by and do nothing. On this issue, Mr. Webb, you sat by and did nothing. No, you really did worse than doing nothing - you aided and abetted evil.
Sadly,
(iceskater)
Illegals will most likely be definite votes for Democrats and socialism. The unborn, if allowed to live, may not vote with the left (its just too much risk for the left).
She actually SAID that?
My Lord! She really IS Nazi Pelosi! Only a Nazi would say something like that as if it were a normal, everyday practice used by governments world wide to control their economies.
If Nazi Pelosi wants to control the population, perhaps she should do something about the millions of illegal aliens flooding across the border, making anchor babies. Then she won't have to Rob taxpayers to fund government baby murdering programs.
This is what Socialism/ communism always results in however. Mass murder of the population to reduce the demand on the system, resetting the taxpayer/taxtaker ratio.
I was in a restaurant with no control of the TV. They had MSNBC on and it was broadcasting the swearing in ceremony of the tax dodger. Of course Obammy was there and had to jump in fromt of the camera to make a speech. Do not get between him and a camera. I have no idea what he was babbling about.
In his 90’s, Byrd has learned the ropes well. He has 98.7 percent attendance record in his nearly five decades of service in the Senate, and has cast nearly 17,800 roll call votes . Damn! This bastard never stays home.
Thanks for the post, 2am!
Clarification request: Did Pelosi say “contraception” or “abortion?” The transcripts I saw read “contraception.” Was there a time when she said “abortion” would stimulate the economy? If so, I’d like to see documentation of it.
Nice
You got to love Pelosi. You cant buy opportunities like these for republicans. I am tempted to call her office, make believe I am a pro-abort-lib and tell her I sent $$$ to Obama in Oct for the “Right to Choose” and this is most important part of jobs bill. LOL
Pelosi used to be a sore pre-Obama, but now she is key to dems headaches.
