McCain Wants a Stimulus Rewrite
Politico ^ | 01/25/2009 | EagleUSA

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) told "Fox News Sunday" this morning that he would not support the stimulus package as the House Democrats have written it because it includes too much wasteful spending.

The stimulus currently includes $275 billion in tax cuts and doesn't include Republican input or a spending timeline, McCain said.

"There should be an end point to all of this spending.say two years...The plan was written by the Democratic majority in the House primarily. So yeah, I think there has to be major rewrites, if we want to stimulate the economy," McCain said. "I am opposed to most of provisions in the bill. As it stands now. I would not support it."

McCain wouldn't say whether he would filibuster it.

"We need serious negotiations," he said. "We're losing sight of what the stimulus is all about and that is job creation."

Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), however, disagreed with McCain, saying he expects a number of Republicans to support the $825 billion stimulus package.

Hmmm. Posturing or reality??? This so-called "stimulus" package is a payback, welfare, quid-pro-quo, vote-buying waste of money as it stands. Standard DemoRAT fare --- now time to count RINOs and any congressmen that still care about this country. If McCain has any berries, he will stand and demand the DemoRATS explain how this pork and welfare spending will rebuild our economy. Get out the popcorn.

“If McCain had any any berries...”

C’mon, haven’t you seen enough already? McCain is a loser, and a sellout, he’s more closely aligned with the vermin than with our side. Screw him. If any of this stuff was important to him, he could have (and should have) spoken up about it when he was still campaigning and he ‘rushed back to Washington’ to ‘help with this vital situation’. Screw you, McCain. You sellout.

Juan McCain probably wants to bundle amnesty into the bill. I cannot believe I wasted money trying to support this creep.

Put down the popcorn, get on the phone and call McCain’s office and tell him he is a rat sh*t RINO.

In the interest of Statesmanlike senatorial compromise, McCain will settle for $525 billion in wasteful spending instead of $575 billion.

This is all for theater.... the Act that is played before the “grand bipartisan compromise” is revealed as a towering Obama signs the bill with McLame and Lindsay Graham standing beside him with their sh*! eating grins on their face.

McCain agrees in principal with everything Obama and the democrats are doing. At this point in history we have a one party system.

You don't know that. Look, I hate McCain too, but if he's opposing this stimulus bill as it stands, then he needs our support. This bill needs to die.

Put down the popcorn, get on the phone and call McCain’s office and tell him he is a rat sh*t RINO.

Wait until the vote is held. If he votes for it, then call him a rat ---- RINO :-)

I’m not relying on him but he should take this as an opportunity to lead the opposition to this bad bill. I’d think he’d want to prove to the people that he’d have been a better President.

Uh Oh.
Now Barry might start turning on McCain.
Gee ,what’s not to love in the Porkorama ?
New sod for the Washington Mall.
Who knew that when Barry was talking about “ Stimulating “ Americans , he meant condoms ?
No word on whether they are personalized with Barry’s face like the Obama Condoms.
Money for ACORN is apparently in there-surprise, surprise, surprise.
And of course, no white guys need apply for the so called construction jobs.
They will be reserved for unskilled minorities.

Agreed. McCain can redeem himself a bit. NY Gov David Patterson appointed a Dem upstate NY woman who actually voted against the bailout. She is a Dem but she is pro-gun and anti illegal immigration. We need more Republicans like her.

Maybe McCain is working with Obama. He’ll call this version “pork”, but the next version (when they remove 2 million for the study of sex change operations on the libidos of laboratory rats) a good bill, and then vote on it.

That way he gives the final bill, and Obama, credibility.

We’ll just see what happens.

John Sidney rode his white horse to DC after suspending his campaign to make sure we got a good bailout the first time around.

I’m sure he’ll do the right thing this time too.
