Having been lucky enough to attend two of the most memorable events in modern American history, I am able to report that Inauguration Day in Washington was very much like a cold-weather Woodstock.
At both, there was a wonderful feeling of community. Along, of course, with the sense that at any moment, you could be trampled to death by thousands of very friendly people who were being moved around like the worlds most mellow herd of cattle.
The big difference was in the national reaction. The only people who felt unified during Woodstock were those who were there everybody else was horrified or jealous. But the inauguration left the whole country glued together emotionally, one big American ball of hope.

There fixed that.
The cult following this phoney Kenyan-born tool of the media are the only ones unified; the unification being they will be getting something for nothing at the expense of those "rich bastards", aka, TAXPAYERS.
For those who pay taxes or have any respect for the Constitution, and freedoms provided by it without socialist/elitist interference with their actions, freedom of speech, etc., we are at the darkest hour of our America.
Taking the earnings of some, to hand out to others who are not self-disciplined or self-responsible is not what the Founding Fathers had ever intended.
The only difference was no mud? I guess I missed the free sex and evrybody being high on dope. Press must have not covered it.
I can hardly believe what passes for journalism these days.
What did she say? The whole country was unified and eagerly awaited Obama’s less than inspiring speech? Guess what? I didn’t hear one word about Obama’s speech in the workplace lunchroom even by his most ardent disciples. The whole country unified? This woman is out of her mind.
notice the drive by media does not have any pictures of the MESS and flags on the ground after the indoctrination meeting.
The only people who felt unified during Woodstock were those who were there everybody else was horrified or jealous.
I have to vehemently disagree with this statement.
As for the rest of the article, the woman really does believe President Obama will be able to wave his hand over our nation and magically everyone will fall in step and all out problems will be fixed.
Guess what? I didnt hear one word about Obamas speech in the workplace lunchroom even by his most ardent disciples.
Really. Even news coverage yesterday was more intent on the new 1st Ladies dresses.
Oh really....she interviewed the whole country from DC. Why that's...that's amazing!/s
Job security for cleanup crews?

...”But the inauguration left the whole country glued together emotionally, one big American ball of hope.”...
Wrong. There are some 48 millions or so who voted against Obama that don’t feel that way. I, personally, feel nauseated over the thought that the left has complete control over the Legislative and Executive branches of the US government, and that Obama has repopulated the entire Executive with Clinton-era re-treads and criminals, including at the highest levels.
Barack Obama is not my president, and as I did with Clinton will refer to him only as the current occupant of the Oval Office.
There could have been mass riots...and Gail would have still written the exact same article.
“I am able to report that Inauguration Day in Washington was very much like a cold-weather Woodstock.”
Irrespective of the whether Woodstock was good or bad, whether everyone was using drugs and having sex, or whether the only people who liked it were those in attendance...
She did not say that the inauguration was another Woodstock but rather, “...was very much like a cold-weather Woodstock.”
For the love of God, since the governmets schools either did not teach it or people have forgotten it, take a few minutes to review what “similes” are and how they are used in writing.
Literacy is our friend.
She
metaphor and simile
Both left mountains of trash behind. Good thing this lot was ‘friends of the earth, and green, and stuff’, or they would have made a real mess...
Not me! I refused to watch even one second of that farce.
A man has got to know his limitations...besides, the TV I had nearby is not mine, and I'd hate to have to pay for it...
