Y'see, son, there's acting, and then there's thinking. Just cause you can do one, don't mean you can do t'other.

Now shut up and act.

I wonder how many signers of the Declaration of Independence would have supported Gay marriage?

Why doesn’t he show how brave he is and, say how un-American Muslims are.

Un-A...Omerican. Hanks thinks America and Omerica are the same thing, not realizing that America had laws and culture that preceded him by a few centuries. Omerica is a different matter. Hanks and his gay agenda are very Omerican, but have no historic basis in America. Thank goodness for the blacks in California who don’t let white pansies like Hanks interfere with their reasoned repulsions towards sexual perversions.

If anything is un-American, it’s what was done to the Mormons in the 1800’s.

Since its founding in 1830, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were often harshly treated and persecuted by their neighbors, primarily due to their religious beliefs. There was violence directed against the Church, its members, and its leader, Joseph Smith. This among other reasons caused the body of the Church to move from one place to another- Ohio, Missouri, and then to Illinois where church members built the city of Nauvoo. Missouri Governor Lilburn Boggs issued an extermination order against all Mormons living in the state. In 1844 Joseph Smith was killed by a mob while in custody in the city of Carthage, Illinois. In 1846, religious tension reached their peak, and in 1848 mobs burned the Latter-day Saint temple in Nauvoo.

Mr. Hanks, why don't you form your own Hollywood Un-American Activites Committee.
You can blacklist anyone you find offensive.

last i checked, putting up signs and airing commercials for your political views is not un-American.

burning homes and churches, vandalizing property and assaulting people because you don’t like the outcome of an election... well.. that is not only un-American, it’s illegal and criminal.

When informed of the "Forrest Gump" star's comments, Kim Farah, a spokesperson for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, told Tarts, "Expressing an opinion in a free and democratic society is as American as it gets."

Bill McKeever, a rep for the Mormonism Research Ministry, added, "Personally, I find it un-American to tell people that they shouldn’t vote their conscience. Hanks said he doesn’t 'like to see any discrimination codified on any piece of paper.' Considering that just about every law discriminates in some form or another, makes this comment ridiculous. Hanks’ comment shows that he very much believes in discriminating against people with whom he disagrees. I may not agree with Mormon theology, but I certainly defend their right to express their opinion."

A point lost on many Americans, un-American or not...

I agree, I’m tossing all the movies I own with Tom Hanks in them. He’s lost all credibility now.

By watching movies starring Tom Hanks, you're giving money to someone who hates you.

It's that simple.

Gee...the Liberals are always the first ones to scream “Don’t question my patriotism!”. However, it also appears they’re the first ones to call someone “UnAmerican”—so they have no problem questioning someone else’s patriotism. Hypocrites.

I’ve seen freepers who are not too crazy about the LDS but I’ve haven’t seen any freepers who support sodomite ‘marriage’.

My next door neighbor told me Tom Hanks is the new Jimmy Stewart. My response: “Excuse me, ma’am, but Tom Hanks is no Jimmy Stewart.” Can’t wait to get her reaction on this article.

Of course Crossdressing Hollywood actors who play AIDS infected gay men in movies are perfectly "American".

I didn't realize Hanks was a Big Love producer (never seen it). The problem with Hollyweird is once in a while they make a decent movie like Saving Private Ryan that gets you hooked in. Then you have to put up with all their crappy liberal propaganda movies the rest of the time hoping there will be another good one again.
