Lebedev could not immediately be reached for comment. He was quoted in The Guardian as saying that if he became owner he would not interfere with the paper's editorial line.

ROFLMAO.....

Lebedev should do a weekly editorial like William Randolph Hearst.

Buying a newspaper?

Won’t be a billionaire for long.

I kinda figured he’d have some Russian thugs to convince people how having a newspaper subscription could help prevent broken bones, house fires and such. A little different take on the old sales routine where “You gotta sell the sizzle - not the steak”.

A bit off the rails.

“obscure”? It’s probably the most famous bit of trivia in cinematic history.

For a good movie on Citizen Kane, check out RKO 281.

It’s a hoot.

I choose to see “rosebud” as a general term of endearment unrelated to any specific body part.

>>Ex-KGB agent seeks to buy London newspaper<<

Heck if its anything like American newspapers, a KGB guy may well be more conservative than the current owners.

This is a poem Dorothy Parker wrote after visiting San Simeon...

Upon my Honor
There’s the Madonna
Standing in a niche
Above the door
Of the well-known whore
Of a prominent son-of-a-bitch!
